Van Bonn & Upwellings join forces to showcase journeys of different moods and styles of dub techno on their new ep called Cloudwalker. The opening Cloudwalker Dub is moving in between the triangle of dubby stories told in Bristol, Copenhagen and Vienna. Harmonious, bass heavy and with a special attention to the little something. Bridging is raw and deep. It sucks you in and the harmonies tickle on your skin during a sunrise on a misty morning.
The following Dilated Spaces is reduced to its bare minimum and proofs that when you go deep and minimal, there is always the possibility to go even deeper and reduce the elements even further. Up next is Deepchord co-founder Mike Schommer who directs his remix of Bilateral Kite in moody and texture rich territories conducted by a straight forward kick and dubbed out fx. King Cry Cry is a personal reminiscence to the big soul of the originators of dub.
Van Bonn presents with 'Control' his debut album on his label Van Bonn records. Control is the strong and logical consequence of his earlier releases. The Album presents 13 tracks at the edge of techno and dub. Van Bonn takes the opportunity to present an album full of drive, groove and power without losing the sight for his elegant musical vibes. He also opens his musical spectrum for new influences towards vocals, ambient sound scapes and dub step.
Van Bonn is opening a new chapter for Van Bonn Records in presenting collaborations with like minded artists on his label. ‚Dual‘ is a travel through foggy, reverberating and echoing landscapes by the long time friends Van Bonn and Tim Kossmann, known from his releases on e.g. Greyscale and Telrae. The opener is a bass heavy dub techno vibe that contrasts the rhythmical bass stabs and harmonious chords with a dubbed out melody.
'Adrift‘ is all about the continous ride on the moment of flow and depth, yet it is a little personal reference to the vibes of the mid 2000s. No one less than Mosaic and Bluetrain founder and dub techno monolith Steve O’Sullivan took on the remix duties. Steve O’ Sullivan transformed ‚Adrift‘ into a trippy and dubby dance floor version that is the combination of UK and Berlin dub vibes. Resilience enters ambient and electronica waters with feel for attention to detail.
