Cheeky Sneakers celebrates its grand opening in style as Denham Audio bring in a few friends for a masterclass in breakbeat-rooted club music.
Opening track Single Minded, featuring the prolific Coco Bryce is a playful take on classic house tropes with a dark, ravey twist while the raw, stripped-out roller So Good, produced with fellow Club Glow affiliate Mani Festo nods back to the original jungle sound.
On the flip, another Club Glow affiliate enters the fray as LMajor assists on the cascading warehouse firecracker Down On Me while rising Japanese producer Kazuho joins to help close proceedings on the hyperactive Love Addiction.

Echocord returns this March with a new EP from El Choop, backed by a remix from Sven Weisemann. Harvey Bones, better known to most as El Choop is a London based producer and DJ delivering dub leaning house and techno via the likes of Etui Records, Greyscale and now Echocord, a perfect home for his subtly nuanced, intricately unfolding aesthetic. Leading is title-track ‘Insane Sends’, employing a sturdy kick, cavernous percussion and choppy stab sequences, as the name would suggest all dynamically modulating across the composition’s six-minute duration. ‘Some Fall Harder Than Others’ then follows, embracing a more stripped back feel atmospherically, bringing filtered dub chords, ethereal pad textures and rounded subs into focus while dusty drums carry the hypnotic groove. Label regular Sven Weisemann then rounds out the release with his ‘Angelis Sends Mix’ of ‘Insane Sends’, a twelve-minute interpretation embracing a cinematic feel via expansive synth atmospherics, spiralling dub echoes and metallic chimes, all ebbing and flowing amongst one another throughout while a bumpy drum groove keep things moving.
New Decade's remix of 'Cold Fresh Air' is the first new production to grace the 'Reloaded' series. The owners of local label 'Out Of Romford', which released Desired State's 'Dance the Dream' back in '92, were the perfect choice for this project. Twisted amens layered with classic breaks and thunderous subs keep that authentic mid 90's vibe, whilst bringing a fresh take on one of the labels biggest tracks. Paired with a previously unreleased '94 VIP mix that was found in the DAT archives, we give you a fresh 12" of this seminal track on our 180g heavyweight vinyl.
Jossy Mitsu (Rinse FM / 6 Figure Gang) makes her production debut on Astral Black. A resident DJ for the labels monthly club residency and host for their monthly radio shows, the club night-cum-label is the perfect home for Jossy's debut solo release. The Birmingham-raised, London based DJ has become known for her ability to shell down any club, whether that’s rinsing out a twisted concoction of sweaty House, Techno and left field club heaters, firing heavy-weight Rave and Jungle sets, or serenading you with her 2-step vinyl collection. Now holding down a Rinse FM residency and part of the much loved ‘6 Figure Gang’, the past 18 months has seen Jossy DJ across Europe and the UK, alongside artists such as Joy Orbison, Dance System, Maya Jane Coles & Dusky and perform at events such as The Warehouse Project, Glastonbury & Outlook Festival among many others.
Throughout the 4-tracks here on 'Planet J', Jossy invites the listener to take a step inside her sonic world. The meandering pads and scattering drum patterns of EP opener 'Odyssey' are seasoned with warped chords 8-bit arpeggiators and ticking cow bells reminiscent of producers such as Skee Mask or INVT. '1997' brings together pounding 4x4 kicks, bouncing basslines and pitched vocal samples, giving the track the makings of a house anthem and leaving the listener yearning for a return to sweaty basement clubs. The high octane energy of 'Turismo' takes the records BPM up a notch for a marathon of skittering snares drums, raucous percussion and menacing sub bass. Whilst the heavily reverbed chords and melodic basslines of subdued EP closer 'Ø' demonstrate Jossy's ability to create thoughtful electronic music whilst still retaining a hard, dance-floor focussed edge.
The EP comes in a full colour sleeve with Planet J’s capital city visualised in a high-res CGI rendering courtesy of London-based designer Kerrie.IRL

Brain Dance is the debut EP from Sydney artist and Velodrome’s resident dancefloor darling, Posture. Following on from his single ‘Zoom Dates’ released on Velodrome Recordings in 2020, this EP affirms Posture’s ability in creating heavy-hitting techno with heart.
A bold and refined body of work, Brain Dance is a masterclass in brooding high-energy dance music. Blending sombre tonal palettes with intricate driving percussion, Posture has crafted a suite of 4 peak-set techno cuts that retain a delicate, fluid energy throughout.
Written in isolation, Brain Dance is pensive in its mood while remaining wholly inspired by dance floor energies from past and future - a record that invites introspection in the peak of dance floor hypnosis.
This record also comes packaged with a limited edition 250gsm A4 print designed by Bradley Pinkerton.
Busta Rhymes delivered his debut album, The Coming, three years after the Leaders of the New School unofficially disbanded. Though his talents were evident on those Leaders of the New School releases, Busta went on a series of features that only built up the public’s desire for a solo Busta album. Right out the gate Busta dropped his classic debut single “Woo Hah!!” that made it abundantly clear he was to be mentioned among Hip Hop’s greatest solo artists. The energy and originality packed on that one song set a tone for the album that displays Busta’s raw talent and ability to bend words with his ever rambunctious flow. Songs such as “Everything Remains Raw”, “Abandon Ship”, and “Still Shining” all rise above as The Coming’s stand out tracks but it’s really“ill Vibe” that is the albums crown jewel moment. Busta soundsright at home over this J Dilla beat trading verses with his Native Tongue cohort Q-Tip.
The Coming was a critical and commercial success for BustaRhymes. It reached #6 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1996 and has since received a platinum certification from RIAA. As mentioned The Coming boasts the hit single "Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check" which reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1996. It was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance. It also ended up sporting another hit single, "It's a Party" featuring Zhané. The Coming shows amazing variety where Busta is able to break free from the bellsand the whistles of the Busta “Dungeon Dragon” flow to explore other ways of leaving our jaws open by his incredible lyricism. The Coming surely lives up to its title, as Busta delivers a performance that ignited his impeccable solo career.

Asquith is back for 2021 with a heavy selection of jungle, techno and hardcore tracks that dive deep into the sub-heavy rave continuum.
Following up a smattering of releases in pandemic year 2020 including Love Is A Mystery, Rave Til Dawn and Temple Runner, plus the scorching Acid Monkfish as Reehl and the deep diving You Know How Much You Mean To Me as Vanisher. Time Warp sets the tone for a year of renewal and further growth, channeling the influence of some of his Lobster contemporaries and an expansion into further sound development. The EP opens with the title track 'Time Warp'. Weighty rhythmic low end collides with glowing pads, vocal calls and MIT bleep synths in a techno-bass-bleep cross-genre melting pot. 'Back To Dannys (Ripped CD Mix)' evokes a past time of post-rave drives back to ya mates'. Semi-detached afterparty shenanigans, the original spirit of rave, baggy pullovers and keeping the party alive.
The maiden solo album from Jam Baxter on the Blah Records imprint. Entirely produced by Sumgii. The 9th release on BLKMARKET MUSIC is the second follow up release by Taimur, Amo, and Ostara under their T.A.O. alias. TAO stands for the absolute principle underlying the universe, combining within itself the principles of yin and yang and signifying the way, or code of behavior, that is in harmony with the natural order.
On the A side, the opening A1 breakbeat track ‘Ready Set Flow’ keeps on building and building with Ostara on the vox. The track sets the tone for a party with sleaze and constant tease. The A2 electro turns into techno on the track ‘Sevn’, a journey into time and space. On the B side, B1 is a minimal after-hours space nugget that takes you ‘To the Moon.’ B2 closes out the EP with a hypnotic and twisted 4 on the floor track ‘Shadow In the Maze.’
3 Feet Deep’s third release takes off with a dynamic 2 stepper by D-Elite, who cleverly samples dial tones to make a smooth pad and pays tribute to Pirates Radio & Tower Block Dreams on the vocals. Next, Pépé Elle, resident of the label, is here this time with his good friend CleS, forming a dynamic beat/bass combo. The track “Instinct Primaire'' blends Pépé’s wobbles and dark sounds with CleS’s jazzy roots. The clarinet is taking us upon a mystical journey. Rising producer Dominus closes off the A side with his “Jungling Sound,” built around a reese bassline and spacey shakers for an excursion into the deep and old school flavours. Finally, B side brings Zero FG & Peaky Beats together, each delivering a spacey, atmospheric track of their own. Zero FG’s powerful lead and captivating vocals in “Just a Groove'' sets the scene up for the nostalgic tone Peaky Beats’s guitar creates jumping in and out throughout the track.
Gil Evans to Miles Davis…. Holger Czukay to the ensemble known as Can….Jean Claude Vannier to Serge Gainsbourg on Histoire de Melody Nelson. That’s the only way to explain the specificity of Four Tet and Madlib’s collaboration, in this special album that showcases a two-decade long friendship that has resulted in an album that follows Madlib’s classics like Quasimoto’s The Unseen, Madvillainy and his Pinata and Bandana albums with Freddie Gibbs.
“A few months ago I completed work on an album with my friend Madlib that we’d been making for the last few years. He is always making loads of music in all sorts of styles and I was listening to some of his new beats and studio sessions when I had the idea that it would be great to hear some of these ideas made into a Madlib solo album. Not made into beats for vocalists to use but instead arranged into tracks that could all flow together in an album designed to be listened to start to finish. I put this concept to him when we were hanging out eating some nice food one day and we decided to work on this together with him sending me tracks, loops, ideas and experiments that I would arrange, edit, manipulate and combine. I was sent hundreds of pieces of music over a couple of years stretch and during that time I put together this album with all the parts that fitted with my vision.” Kieren Hebden AKA Four Tet

1988 is the follow up to Knxwledge’s official debut album Hud Dreems (Stones Throw, 2015). The same year Hud Dreems was released Knx worked with Kendrick Lamar on To Pimp a Butterfly, earning the producer his first Grammy. A duo with Anderson .Paak called NxWorries was formed around the same time. Their single “Suede” became a viral hit, vaulting the singer to R&B stardom, and their album Yes Lawd! followed through on that song’s immense promise. Knx and Paak have quietly continued collaborating, and some of the new work is heard on 1988.
A prolific artist in the extreme sense of the word, Knxwledge continues to redefine instrumental hip-hop almost in real-time with a stream of beat tapes numbering in the hundreds on Bandcamp, and video remixes on Instagram.
This prolific output began early. 1988 takes its name from the fact that much of the new record was created that very year, when Knx was an infant. As the story is told, little baby Knx was left alone by his mother for just a few moments and crawled to a family member’s vintage SP–12 sampler. When his mother returned he had already produced his first beats and nearly mastered the machine. These tracks, all produced before nap time while rocking a Nike diaper, were stored over the years on floppy discs, then brought to his studio in recent months where they were finished up, mixed, and mastered.

Unreleased archival tracks from the On-U vaults! This LP illuminates the early development of one of the flagship acts on the label, allowing some truly magnificent versions to be heard for the first time. Mostly stripped-back raw takes, they highlight the rock solid rhythm foundation laid down by such incredible players as Style Scott and Charlie Eskimo Fox, as well as three vital soul-in-the-echo-chamber interjections from the late, great Bim Sherman. Essential early-80s dub damage.

On 11 October 2010, Brainfeeder released the debut album by a 23 year old ex-skater, painter and music producer from Chino Hills called Teebs (real name Mtendere Mandowa). The title “Ardour” means great enthusiasm, love or passion and was a fitting descriptor for his inherently warm, lushly textured beats. It’s an undisputed classic in the Brainfeeder canon and more widely considered an essential chapter in the ever-evolving puzzle of the global “beat scene”.
Brainfeeder and Teebs are celebrating the 10th anniversary with a limited special edition reissue of this landmark record. Pressed on “deep pink” 2LP and housed in a beautiful gatefold sleeve with artwork by Teebs himself, the new edition features six previously unreleased bonus tracks.

Legendary Chicagoan General Juke aka Gant-Man returns with Distorted Sensory, his brand new acid house adventure. A longtime veteran who’s been behind the decks since before he was even a teen, he’s been an essential part of Chicago dance music history since the Dance Mania days in the mid 90s, and a major pioneer in jumpstarting the juke movement that followed. This new single, and his debut solo releaseon the Teklife imprint explores the time honored tradition of jacking, channeling the very essence of house music though a modern lens.
Employing an enigmatic 303 bassline that mutates and breathes as if it were alive, Gant plays malicious melodies that run up and down octaves in a freaky, hallucinatory manner. Squelchy synth movements are met by eerie FM tones, reminiscent of Cajmere’s classic Chicago staple the Percolator. A rugged 909 drum kit bangs the track along in true jacking fashion, making it the perfect tool for shaking the floors of dark, sweaty warehouses. In addition to the original, two of the UK’s finest contribute remixes as well.
Hyperdub boss Kode9 puts things into overdrive with his 160 BPM warped vision of Gant’s acid, sliced up to appeal more to the footworkers and fans of psycho tempos. Dubstep pioneer Loefah strips back the original percussion and lets the 303s float over a cloud of deep sub bass, adorned with lovely splashes of rolling snares and micro percussion.
With an array of stone cold classics under his belt, from ghetto house anthem Juke Dat Girl to his brilliant collabs with the late DJ Rashad Heaven Sent and Juke Dat Juke Dat, Gant-Man is a true renaissance man. For over 20 years, he’s consistently shown the world the complexity that makes up his city’s dance culture, never sticking to one area or tempo. Distorted Sensory is a beautiful celebration of Chicago house music, a return to its true raw design, and a reminder of just how timeless an art form it really is.
