Deep dub wise meditation courtesy of Spanish dub wizard Bukkha. Featuring the vocal talents of Ranking Joe and melodic flute work by Don Fe. Essential in these times of dread.
We return with a LOST DUBPLATE from Bristols finest KAHN, alongside Sector 7 head honcho Boofy. Imhotep has been doing the rounds for many a year beautifully showcasing Kahns raw yet hypnotizing sound. Boofy returns with an energized, hypnotic remix the way only Boofy can do . Strictly sound system vibes!
After a long hiatus on the label Karma returns with another system classic. Showing diversity as always Karma moves between more dubbed out vibes on side A, and back to sound system rudeboy with the B.
New Zealand native and master of bass, Headland returns to System Music with another slice of production wizardry built and ready to shut down dancefloors and sound systems across the world.
On the A side sits Garbo, a monster of a track which rips through the speakers with aggression and bounce. It’s as intimidating as it is funky and as experimental as it is absolutely heavyweight. Bound to shut down every rave in which it graces its presence.
The B side homes Grits. A skippy stepper of a track with a densely dark atmosphere drenched in digital yet glacial sounds and nuances, easily translatable from the dance to the headphones.
Following his 2019 debut on the label with Amphibious / Lucid Dreams, Bristol-based producer Drone returns to System Music for another exploration into the darker corners of sonic frequencies and low end pressure.
Entitled Flooded EP, this is Drone’s biggest project to date and features 4 original, epic tracks accompanied by an incredible remix from SP:MC. The EP kicks off with 20k, an introduction laden with off-kilter, haunting eeriness and pulsating bass and percussion. Next up is Entropy, a truly ethereal track. Spatially beautiful yet isolating and cold. The title track, Flooded, is a monster of a track which intimidates and excites with eyes down and gun fingers raised. Rounding off the body of work is Fear which hits hard with crisp drum patterns and a throbbing bassline, almost evoking a sense of nostalgia, tying it in seamlessly with a typically electrifying remix from SP:MC
Title track Temple Song leads us into a seemingly infinite cosmos of reverberating dubwise sonics, guided by its creeping percussion and enveloped with a wall of warm sub-bass. This perfectly pairs with the next track Breakthrough, equal in minimalism and power but comes with a more ‘steppas’ vibe and is equipped with guitar riff which hypnotises and seduces. The EP is rounded off by Biosphere which lowers the tempo even further for an all out Dub Techno affair, a true masterclass with influences heard from Jamaica to Berlin.
