Manchester newcomer Reynes makes his SITU Records debut with Mono Memory, a dreamy merging of UKG & minimal written during a period of lockdown.
Hazy Garage roller 3pm on the 25th opens up the record before the listener is plunged into the guttural and rhythmically broken Cyan. On the flip, Jet Black combines weighty bass with delicate pads & skittering drums to maximum effect while Valentines Ride is a sparse, percussion punctuated ride across the lower frequencies.
UK based Memphis Glass demonstrates his decade-refined deep, twinkling house sounds on Lobster family label, SITU Records . The stunning production on Orange Circles EP is just as effective in the club as on a hazy evening home listen.
The record opens to the contrast of twinkling melancholy bells & bouncy percussion on the introspective Orange Circles converging onto Ilford Depot with a driving bassline built for the dancefloor. The B-side opens with the skittery drums & lush pads of Robots In Lust, while Zunk’s glittering organ pads & arpeggios ramp up the emotion. Closing out the record, DOS’s remix of Zunk gives the track an uplifting rework.
