Deep house legend Kerri Chandler's mighty "Atmosphere EP" dropped in 1993 and still packs a punch today! A killer, heavyweight 4 tracker of deep Zanzibar, Shelter channeling NJ House music that has always been a big one among the DJ's, heads and dancers. Opener "Climax 1" is an organ driven, stomping groove with piano stabs sprinkled throughout managing to sound tough and subtle at the same time while it's partner "Climax 2" is an uplifting, old school leaning cut with vocal loops, samples and that unmistakable KC swing! On side-B "Track 1" kicks things off with some super, rock hard drums and horn samples woven through those blissed out late night synth sounds, one to get lost in! "Track 2" rounds out the EP in fine style and sounds a bit like Kerri is jamming with Mr.Fingers as the ubiquitous Juno bassline rolls out over some jazzy piano, lush pads, strings and claps making the "Atmosphere EP" a truly essential record with every track oozing pure class.
This has always been a sought after 12" due to it's classic status and has often changed hands on-line for collectors prices. Now it is available again, re-mastered, re-pressed and re-released with permission and in conjunction with Shelter Records, New York City and featuring the original 1993 label artwork.
Another rock solid gem from the peerless Shelter Records, outta NYC. This time it's Josh Milan and Kevin Hedges at the controls, aka the mighty Blaze! 'Dancin' is some straight mid 90's classic era Blaze vibes. Originally on white label and bootleg only, this 12" has long been a thing of desire for disciples of the true-school deep House sound. It's vintage Blaze alright, plug in, soak it up and drift off on those chords, those basslines and them vox. As always, there's a few mixes to choose from.. each bringing a different, subtle change in mood. Perfect for the DJ's and the collectors. Repressed with OG Shelter label artwork, and pressed onto bright Blue wax - don't sleep.
Prime time, peak sounds from the legendary Shelter camp on this 1994 EP of that real NYC / NJ house music! Cassioware, Blaze and Shelter boss man Freddy Sanon are all on production and mixing duties on these movers from the golden era. Vintage deepness is all over this one, with the sultry vocals of Sajaeda setting the mood off just right. Naturally, and in true Shelter style, we're treated to a handful of mixes and versions across the EP, and there are the obligatory fathoms deep dubs for those late night dancefloor moments. Truly essential gear from one of the foundation labels of real deep house. Reissued with OG Shelter artwork and pressed onto bright Pink wax for the collectors out there!
