Cue up your sound system! The second chapter of Sentry's compilation series is reaching the long-awaited light of day and furthers the notoriety of its lauded artist congregation in the typical high-grade style. Moving into the last quarter of 2020 and from strength to strength with each release, the imprint welcomes plenty of fresh faces to the revered artist roster, such as Arkham Sound, Karnage and Muttley among others. Bridling amid the commotion, returning champions like Cimm, LSN and Substance, as well as the label boss Youngsta himself untether their respective supreme vibrations. To be released as a digital long-player alongside a four-track vinyl sampler - 'Part 2' forms a comprehensive listening journey, truly taking bass music enthusiasts for an extensive and stylistically varied ride. Smoothly fusing meditative soundscapes with its apocalyptic counterparts, the result forms a select composite of some of the scene's brightest talents encapsulated within the heavyweight LP.
Featuring a meticulously curated assortment of bass music flavours, it kicks off with Dub Techno inclinations, ephemeral chords and mesmeric soundscapes in Cimm's 'Glider' - laying it down on a foundation bassline. 'Shottah Kush' by the LSN collective conjures an as electric as industrial mammoth, running things with head-nodding swing and scattered outbursts of otherworldly distortion.
Wandering through the hypnotic temple sounds of 'The Fallen' by Saraphim, 'Tupi' by Japan's CITY1 returns to a full-frontal flute assault, loaded with murderous low-frequency excursions, primed for the dance. More infernal overtones and glitches await in Kali & Senncoria's 'Dragon Shape' - taking listeners on an epic sound design journey.
Sirens from afar, silky strings and high-grade 808's fire through 'Magie' by Muttley, followed up by off-kilter Dubstep at its finest - 'Nug' by Substance & Youngsta, teeming of sonic intricacies. With militant and gripping percussion, Arkham Sound's 'So Jaded' guides through its forceful but evanescent atmosphere.
Taking on the torch, Karnage immolates musing melodies on larger-than-life drums in 'Magitek' - closely tailed by the highly inflammatory contents of Confusious' 'Octane' - radiating shut-down vibes. Wrapped up by spheric harmonies and top-notch 2-Step tendencies in Rednote's 'Albion' - the LP concludes its beautiful journey with a captivating, ruminative meditation of 'Genesis' by Boston's Saltus. Sourced from some of the world's finest artists, both established and new - the mighty Sentry Records syndicate strikes again.

Release Date: 24th April 2020
The prolific Dubstep pioneer Youngsta returns to self-run imprint Sentry Records, this time delivering the wax treatment with a murderous collaboration featuring the dons Killa P and Long Range. Title track ’Progress’ starts off innocently, before slowly dragging you into a field of melody that quickly turns into a warzone: Infectious stabs resemble heavy arms, which do serious damage thanks to the genius square- and sawtooth bass lines as its core. This engineering is backed up by dons Killa P and Long Range, who both pack that extra punch, to conclude their joint effort with Youngsta remains part of one deadly formula. The power of the track ultimately lies within the short bursts of thunderous percussion, ruff vocals from the very underground - and the ton of pressure avid listeners of the tidy Dubstep culture love unmistakably. Tested thoroughly on systems across the globe, both the vocal version as the instrumental have the power to stir a serious crowd. With this thirteenth release of the label, catalogued as 'SEN013', to be set in stone, it is as bulletproof as all preceding releases of this very imprint.

Retro synth melodies keep us on track within the monstrous switch-ups and unquestionably meticulous arrangement, sure to shut down any dance in style. Cutting no corners with the B-Side, Cimm teams up with veteran vocalist Rider Shafique for a dystopian sub-bass onslaught, swaggering militant chants and the apocalyptic ambience to go with it. Stepping out of the dojo with sublime focus - DJ Youngsta's subsequent addition to the Sentry discography unveils its sound system technique in abundant grandeur. Supported by the likes of UKF and Disciple Recordings, the achievements and long-standing dedication to the bass music scene of the London-based artist speak for itself. Now taking charge of the controls, The Others materializes two irreproachable cuts of undiluted Dubstep for the imprint's tenth single outing, bringing forth an exceptional display of the artist's creative ingenuity as well as technical ability, that perfectly falls in line with the label's vision and acclaimed discography.
Anticipation permeates the air. Haunting flute melodies intermingle with tribal drums in 'Shaolin' - introducing itself, saturated in tension. Surges of electric power progressively increase the strain as the sound of the final chimes strikes its apocalyptic verdict. Heading into full-frontal warfare and the midst of a sword fight, a murderous array of distorted overtones leads the way through the trenches, dug by its huge drums and minimal instrumentation. Densely loaded with ingenious sampling and off-kilter groove, the resulting soundscape will wreak havoc on any proper sound system and skanking audience.
Turning the echo up to eleven, the B-Side 'Feedback' boasts an equally effective inferno, culminating in otherworldly levels of pressure and energy. Contemplative synth melodies merge into the melancholic soundscape, feigning brief silence before promptly being reconstructed into a super-charged form. The ensuing shutdown swings to the merciless groove onslaught of its highly fissionable basslines, roaming the dance floor with rhythmic intricacy and a universe of switch-ups and creative breaks - The Other's signature style taken to its fullest extent.

"Vintage flavours transmute into fiery low-end excursions in 'Sun Ra' as Onhell reigns with fire and brimstone and makes way for what's to come. Rolling on, Taso lays waste with dimly lit half-time flows as we enter the smoke-filled mansion of Argo's meticulously crafted 'Since Then' - a prime cut of hip-hop infused breakbeats and bass. Abstrakt Sonance & Substance set the heater into overdrive and blunts aflame as we proceed into the shelling of 207's 'Gypsy Dub' - then promptly being crunched to bits by 'Crocodile' - encapsulating Dayzero's cold-blooded dance floor armaments. Brace yourself for battle as we step to the drums of Caspa's tribal warfare, full-frontal assault engineered for the club. Unrestrained power surges propelling us onwards in Coltcut & Ourman's decidedly high-grade collaboration as listeners march through Khiva's haunting sound system belter 'Teeth' and a zealous dosage of Dubstep as envisioned by Truth. Led through eerie alleys and pressure-ridden environments with LSN on the buttons, the onslaught proceeds with the relentlessly driving 'R U Broke' in Mr. K's signature style. Opus merciless injects straight fury in an auditory form in the spiked 'Lime Pickle' - Bukez Finezt keeping pace with a murderous Cembalo-ridden thug anthem, lunacy! Minimal instrumentation to its fullest effect, Sukh Knight's 'Modulate' keeps it spicy - as does the claustrophobic sub-bass chiming by Leftlow. Thanom ignites what's left of the residual air in 'Tumble It' - dangerous goods. The subsequent time bomb armed by A:Grade & Feonix, cast into the abyss that is Nomine's space-bending 'Judas' - big speaker business. The clock strikes its final hour - Youngsta & Cimm finish off the survivors with a no-holds-barred showdown, the 'Last Judgement' executing its massive verdict.

As an undisputed heavyweight and one of the leading figures within the electronic music scene, Icicle's recognized as a highly respected producer - among other ventures through steaming releases via Hospital Records, Critical Music and Shogun Audio. Propelling his technically advanced production style into the 140 BPM spectrum, it's a sight to behold as DJ Youngsta reveals the next ace up his sleeve. The UK-based veteran conveys his awe-inspiring take on Dubstep with four tracks on a twelve-inch platter - vehemently battle-tested as a dubplate and ready to off at a dance floor near you.
We are immersed in dense, granular fog. 'Raising The Dead' begins the ritual with hypnotism and anxious unrest. Eerie lead melodies lure listeners onwards as relentless percussion takes hold. Rigorously increasing the intensity with mesmeric style to the ruthless beat of the drums - fragmented vocals flicker through the mist. As ethereal spheres seem to vacate, a disturbed melody guides a path into the low-frequency behemoth that is 'Nt'. Driven by its intense groove and sonorous sub-bass emissions, the erratic lead staccato does the rest to keep us fiercely bouncing to Icicle's percussive pulse.
As if it could get any hotter, we flip to a promising B-Side only to be proven wrong twice. Initiating the ceremony with 'Shout Me' - haunting female choirs entrance amidst the thunderous sense of anticipation. Evolving from intricate breaks to straight shut-down maneuvers without skipping a beat. In a final, fulminant outburst, 'Noughties Riddim' goes on to wrap up the masterpiece in a most mischievous fashion. Cutting through the noise, profoundly satisfying mid-range distortion surges flare up in the distance, while continuous pressure continues to evoke cries for rewinds.

Invoking imagery of condensed, interstellar warfare - Dayzero takes command of the controls for Sentry Records’ eighth release. Based in Japan, the acclaimed producer follows up on his substantial outings for Wheel & Deal and Hatched Music among others - having continuously refined his highly effective compound of Dubstep with vocal support from the scene’s vital tastemakers. Now joining the Sentry roster with two monumental armaments, the newest signee shows us how it’s done. Enrichening the sound system music scene with a no-nonsense production style as well as his innovative, experimental approach - all killer, no filler.
Taking off to another dimension in ’Sunday on Spaceship’, listeners are met with feigned lo-fi soundscapes, carved out of analogue noise and detuned echoes. A state of overt tension dissolves into Dayzero firing up the heavy weaponry with stripped down sub bass tremors and meticulously crafted off-kilter groove. Amongst granular, apocalyptic percussion reverberating voices of days past flicker. Diverse drum instrumentation and supple distortion keep it lively, a no-questions-asked onslaught and guaranteed way to light up any dance.
Flipping over to the B-Side, we’re placed on the receiving end of another ton of musical napalm. Finding ourselves being churned through bare concrete, laced with psychedelics. ‘Down By Law’ oozes of sonic variance, as industrial plucks shine through the cracks - furthering the aberration alongside narcotic staccato arpeggios. Subtle use of eerie harmonies and surging feedback wails is firmly kept in check by brute-force kicks and snares - ceremonious pressure underneath. Venting high-pressure 808’s amidst supremely crafted breaks, leaving us yearning for more. A pair of mean-spirited sound-bwoy murder tracks on a twelve-inch platter - enough said!

Fresh off the press - UK's Sentry Records swarms airwaves once again. Reeling in one notoriously effective producer after another, DJ Youngsta welcomes none other than Cimm into the ring. The bass weight badman has already soundly embedded himself in the scene's sonic heartbeat, including releases on prestigious imprints such as J:Kenzo's Artikal UK and the legendary Tempa outlet. Besides vital visual design works (as seen on Sentry's artworks among others), the talented Londoner now spearheads the labels seventh 12" release in full glory. A two-headed beast, once again showcasing the artists exceeding qualities, when it comes to firing up the dance floor in fine style.
Setting sail to the east, 'Eagle Eye' envelopes us in a sense of Asian mystery attached to cinematic drums. Infused with copious amounts of echoing space, a sense of mystique advances. Faint vocal chants chime through nebulous winds as one last statement sends the soundscape into utter frenzy. Cutting right down to the chase, fierce strings lead the way through the nefarious scenery, taking no prisoners as the cut-throat percussion settles any and all disputes. Invigorated with just the right amount of distortion and anthem-esque harmonic calibre, concluded by haunting foley samples.
Switching over to the B-Side, the ethereal expanse gives way to yearning brass melodies, hazy groove afar. 'Old Scratch' fires up a vocal fragment before lunging into a no-holds-barred shutdown scenario. No covert operation as delightfully overdriven 808's pound every last molecule in your vicinity. Abundant dynamics both in micro- and macro-arrangement, meticulously crafted to perfection. Swerving off into contemplation for a breather only to lunge right back into infernal madness. Stripped down to its vital core, the soundscape irreproachably asserts itself with full force.

The moment we’ve been waiting for. Youngsta’s Sentry Records continues to set the pace and raise the standard with one of the most sought-after artists in the current Dub and Dubstep scene. After releases on institutions such as Deep Medi, System and ZamZam Sounds - Egoless is back for another 12” shell. Revealing the next masterpiece of the Croatian heavyweight, the prolific imprint welcomes its next family member and two mammoth tracks. From vintage FX to on-the-fly arrangements and live instruments - Egoless’ production style encapsulates the Jamaican roots, transferring its spirit into the modern era.
Heading straight into the abyss of ‘Decolonize’, we’re being greeted with tastefully overdriven tape hiss, obscured by reverb. Oriental, sitar-esque string plucks take form, wielding an increasingly inquisitive nature. Alongside the organic, percussive swing the string plucks cease for a moment - a fierce vocal statement excites the air as the full intensity of this sonic weapon hits the speakers and every last fibre in your body. The superbly orchestrated arrangement flows in a continuous groove, led onward by haunting surges and psychedelic flute arpeggios. On top of the stomping foundation, longing spheres conclude the anthem and leave us crave for a rewind.

Insurmountable heat sliding through the cracks - no doubt, UK’s Sentry imprint is at it again. DJ Youngsta’s vinyl label is continuing its high-pressure output on dangerous 12” records. Routinely adding some of the worlds finest bass music artists to its roster, now welcoming none other than Gramz to its venerable discography. The notorious alter ego of Sleeper, highly respected producer and label operator (Crucial Rec.), takes a turn for the more aggressive & experimental side in Dubstep territory - firing up dance floors with its in-your-face attitude and Hip Hop inclined slack. Unadulterated gangster business, stirring the melting pot of forward-minded sound system music.
Setting the needle upon the grooves, we’re met with the experimental bass onslaught anthem ’Dip Dip Potato Chip’, immediately recognisable as the sought- after tune that it is, having lit up dance floors all over through the support of some of the most vital tastemakers in the scene. Detuned and distorted pulses scatter on a path paved with nothing but sinister intentions - pulling the trigger on its low frequency foundation and its corresponding loose drums. The sparse and effective instrumentation coupling its essence to a profoundly effective arrangement - taking the cake once again with the second drop. Swords and clanging armour rustle in the background as the characteristic vocal sample mayhem of ‘Illa’ locks keen listeners in a state of flow, being flung around from one unequivocally well-crafted break to another. Beats so dangerous, they ought to be classified - rewinds are to be expected.

We know you’ve been waiting for this one since last summer! Caspa’s debut on Youngsta’s ridiculously on-point Sentry has been one of the most requested releases in a very long time. Hot on the heels of releases by dBridge, Nomine and Akcept, the Sub Soldier comes in hard with two absolute burn-ups...
‘Gutter Riddim’ is a stately spacious construction where every weighty element is carefully considered and plays a key role in the momentum. Tightly sprung tension buzzes through it with high voltage as Caspa lays down some of his darkest designs to date. ‘Hot Head’ hurls us even deeper into the shadows. A true teaser piece; the first bass line is a staccato stab that gives you just enough time to settle into the groove before the real big-balls bass line comes hurtling out of nowhere.
Rewind every single time, this has been causing uncut mayhem for the few DJs lucky to have it early enough. Timelessly gully and a perfect way to kick the doors of 2018 in. As those who were at Sentry’s first anniversary at Fire earlier this month will corroborate: London’s heart rate is pounding away at 140 again, some of the most crucial bass music is coming out of the city and Sentry, Youngsta and Caspa are slap bang in the heart of it. The wait is over... Enjoy.

Repress released 14th September
Without a doubt one of the more influential imprints around, Youngsta’s Sentry Records is successfully keeping its eyes and ears for sound system music wide open. Established only a year ago, the imprint is already more than ready to serve its next immaculate bass music evocation, conjured on a colossal 12-inch. Following up on dBridge and Nomine’s respective heavyweights, the first-class roster welcomes one of New Zealand’s thriving artists to their ranks. Part of the Eyes Down Sound, Akcept has been shelling the world with his foundation sound through venerated imprints, such as AMAR, Moonshine Recordings or FKOF – and of course commendable support from veterans and bass music collectives around the world.
True to the core principles of sound system music, transporting the beloved ‘old school’ feel into the very present of the 21st century - ‘Dreader Than Dread’ envelops eerie spheres of ghastly dub sirens and warbled tape echoes, as the vocal chant jolts the arrangement into unwieldy sub emissions. Finally getting to be able to breathe again, promptly being thrown back into a percussive double-time sub ostinato of monstrous proportions. Gaining momentum in the process, the soundscape is smoothly complemented by a vintage & anthemic brass skank, leaving nothing to be desired - fiery through and through.
Having been sought after since its first appearance, ‘Howl’ is an earthquake-class Dubstep eruption - ‘massive’ is inscribed in its sonic nature. A badman chuckle reverberates within garbled tape noise, introducing the otherworldly impact of Akcept’s snares once more. Fiercely stepping forward, distorted bass oscillations pave the way. If it weren’t enough madness, the sheer amount of weight continues to intensify and escalate, as the track progresses - sure-fire rewind material. A true low frequency onslaught in every way - joining the créme de la créme of 2017’s illustrous musical output in soundsystem music.

Released 23rd June 2017
Soaring imprint Sentry Records presents their second release, pairing up with the highly influential musician and multi-faceted artist Nomine. The illustrious outlet - operated by equally respected producer and DJ Youngsta - is already being held in high regard by tastemakers and aficionados of Dubstep around the globe. Household names like these should need no introduction as their respective history reaches all the way back to the very conception of what has been coined as Dubstep. Their careers are firmly ingrained in the center of UK’s boiling music scene, being involved with labels such as Tempa or Deep Medi and outlets like RinseFM or BBC Radio. Following up on the impact of the well-received debut record by dBridge, Sentry Records unleashes a minimalistic two-track journey, catalogued as ‘SEN002’.
The entrancing, rhythmic interplay of oriental bells and strings revolve around an organic and powerful low-end - boldly demonstrating Nomine’s fundamental knowledge and doing in creating dancefloor-aligned bass music. Being granted with sonic contrast through the use of a distorted synth lead, the emerging soundscape rejoices within a fluid arrangement. The mind is set at ease in a hypnotic trance, while the body is left to dissolve in sheer weight. Further fueling the desire for a dance, ’Stomp’ immediately dives off into eerie, dissonant space along clanging drums and sparse instrumentation. Without fooling around, the listener is met with a single vocal proclaiming its purpose before a driven bassline unceasingly propels itself onward. Whether it’s the profound force of ‘Slip’ or the vigorous core pressure of ‘Stomp’ - this record leaves nothing to be desired if you’re looking for undiluted Dubstep. Designed for DJ’s first and foremost, ‘SEN002’ is sure to be heard throughout the globe and embellish an already venerable discography even further.
