Having been rivals on the football pitch as teenagers, a chance encounter many years later - djing at an International windsurfing festival - cumulated in a back to back set that 'kicked off' the Italia90 collaboration.
Putting the footballing differences aside, Italia90 grew out of a shared love of quality house music that was influenced greatly by Glasgow's close relationship with Chicago and institutions such as the Sub Club that brought these house heroes close to home.
Inspired by seeing the likes of Kerri Chandler and Mike Dunn playing in the city regularly, they ran their own night, Tuff Crowd, in Glasgow's infamous basement club of the Berkley Suite for two years before launching a new chapter with
Tuff Crowd moving to South East London in 2015.
The Smiling Faces EP follows on from Italia90's debut release, Streetlady on the Morris/Audio compilation Approaching 100.
Whereas Streetlady was a summery, vocal, filtered house track, the Smiling Faces EP goes darker with a clear focus on the Club with dramatic melodies, clever vocals and punchy percussion all topped off with a killer remix by Berlin's finest, Iron Curtis

Our second vinyl release features four tracks from our own Icelandic Moff & Tarkin. Big Mango Bangers gives us a good taste of the fresh style that the Vienna based producer has to offer. The A side has two great danceable house tracks, Naked and I Got This that should rock any good dancefloor with some superb sample action.
The B side really ties up the record and features Mutual Distraction a house track with an 80's vibe and Skutla a synthony which could really break up and reset the mood as a DJ tool. Each tracks has a place and the record is a great example of the diversity
we try to encourage.

I Walked by Night is a new label created with the ethos that comes from the foundations of any good resident DJ, that of good selection. Label boss Krysko, who has held residencies for over 16 years, brings his experience to his new label.
The debut release comes from Tristan Grace, a UK based artist (Aliases - OE & Prime Time Crew). Raised propping up record store counters on the South Coast since his early teens, now lives pretty isolated from current club culture. Nothing beats being in the storm of a dance floor, but being able to step away from the pull and draws of the scene allows him to diarise his Occupational Exposure through trax.
Inspiration from the motor city and acid sound lies at the heart of what he does. Influenced by rolling green hills, and surrounded by the analog soul of his machines - he has an addiction to vintage machines of Asian origin, valves, and it's fair to say, he lives his life in 16 step sequence. The Furse E.P moves across the width of his sound, and this being his debut release on I Walked by Night, there will be many more to come.
