Up next on Nomine Sound for NS016 are Essex based duo Saraphim, coming with 4 tracks of Dubstep/140 that will be available both digitally and on vinyl. Graduating through Education & Bass, RNS & RDubz have been going under the "Saraphim" alias for 2 years, this release follows a single release on Education & Bass, a 4 track EP release with Locus Sound, a track on Sentry Records’ Syndicate Pt 2 compilation, a remix for Dread or Dead Records and 2 releases with Japanese based Vomitspit.
The EP as a whole has a middle eastern theme, the title track "Hennya" is a high energy yet melodic 140 track where the lead drives the groove, "Ifrit" again is designed for the dance with strong bass and leads driving the energy, "Monsoon" takes a darker and confrontational vibe and "Strange Charm" rounds off the EP with a captivating groove from the strings to send you off to another realm.
We are pleased to have a debut release on Nomine Sound from E3 Breaks. This outfit consists of grime maverick 'As If Kid' and the one and only godfather of Grime 'DJ Slimzee'. This guise that these 2 have opted to go with seems to have given them the urge to explore the deeper and darker side of the 140 sound. Get your bass bins ready!
Grime originators Macabre Unit return to the Nomine Sound imprint with 2 absolute Grime belters. The originals were released on Nomine Sound in 2017 and if you are familiar with them then these VIPs will not disappoint.
This is Nomine's first solo release on the label since its beginnings and he returns back to his roots with some tribal, ethnic, meditative 140 bass music that can be both raved to or meditated to.
Four 140 BPM bass bangers from the grime wonder boy Boylan (who also has some history in drum and bass, releasing for the likes of the legendary Bad Company) and the grime godfather DJ Slimzee; co-founder of Rinse FM, member of the legendary Pay As U Go Cartel and owner of Slimzos Recordings; Slimzee is a key figure of first generation grime who shot to international underground fame at the turn of the millennium, alongside partners in grime Wiley and Dizzee Rascal.
Boylan and Slimzee make an outstanding production duo and this debut EP is a testament to that; these beats leave a trail of destruction anywhere that they are played around the world, while crossing 140 boundaries and delivering unique bass music with weighty attitude.
Another multi-genre bass music release form the Nomine Sound camp. Courtesy of Nurve from the legendary Macabre Unit, this forthcoming vinyl and digital release has something for everyone, covering 130 BPM, 140 BPM and 170 BPM and some halftime tempos with lots of BASS

Nomine joins forces with longtime friend and legend of grime 'Macabre Unit' for this 6 x track EP. 140 BPM bass with vibes, dubwise, a sprinkle of Japanese grime vocals, 8bit crustiness, tribalistic rhythm and soundbwoy ammo to shell down the dance! Heavy support on BBC Radio 1, 1 Xtra and Rinse Fm from the likes of: Toddla T, Slimzee, Jamz Supernova, Amit, Digital, Youngsta, J Kenzo Spooky and more.
The first release on Nomine Sound is a solid four-track EP from label founder Nomine, a man with over twenty years’ experience in dance music.
NS001 follows from Nomine’s work for Tempa by looking to the east for inspiration, a stark dread and calm zen zoning out the dance. ‘Path’ is a worthy continuation of Nomine’s acclaimed ‘Blind Man’, weaving a sample from Kung Fu Grasshopper over a bed of tumbling drums, plucked strings, and sub pressure. Having centred yourself, slide into ‘Peace Please’ and focus on the lingering flute melody, the flourishes of X=X’s guitar and haunting vocals from iustina to deepen your meditation. On the B-side, open your crown chakra for ‘Lost’ as iustina returns to add a melodic depth to the floating strings and subtle skank of the drums and bass. ‘Mantra’ closes the session with a looping prayer and subtle acid lines leading you towards inner peace.
Nomine is the alias of Andrew Ferguson, who began his career as a drum & bass DJ in 1995 under the name Rage (later renaming himself Outrage to avoid confusion with the legendary MC of the same name). Over the past two decades, Ferguson has had releases on Metalheadz, Commercial Suicide, and Tempa, toured the world more times than anyone should, set up his own pirate station, and collaborated with Bill Laswell’s experimental fusion outfit Methods of Defiance. Ferguson returned to the music world in 2012 as Nomine following a short break and, when he isn’t back on the decks or in the studio, can be found teaching Advanced Music Production at the University of Bedford.
