Jhelisa Anderson's voice was ubiquitous throughout the mid 90's and beyond, her debut LP Galactica Rush had been released by Dorado to critical acclaim and Friendly Pressure was a huge single that crossed numerous underground borders, finding favour with soul fans and clubbers and DJ's alike, providing a late-night / early morning soundtrack to weekends spent partying, expressing and hanging out. Dorado commissioned numerous remixes of this future classic, but it was Ceri Evans' aka Sunship whose 2-step / UKG remixes in 1998 solidified Friendly Pressure as a stone-cold pirates anthem, a total smash on the buzzing UK Garage scene. Evans had been a member of the UK's legendary Jazz-funk outfit The Brand New Heavies, so his sound was a swinging fusion of soul, jazz and snapping UKG drum programming. Fused with Jhelisa's beautiful voice, the Sunship mixes are now regarded as classics and will undoubtedly bring the vibes to any dancefloor, sounding as fresh and soulful as they did back in 1998.
Friendly Pressure has been legitimately re-released with the full involvement of Dorado Recordings and was remastered by London's Curve Pusher from the original DAT's especially for Mint Condition. 100% legit, licensed and released. With the UKG scene carving out it's niche, 1996 saw the all too brief, but much lauded appearance of the mysterious Mred Marquez for this excellent one-off release on Crosstown Records. Dedicating himself to the tougher, trackier & darker side of UK house and garage, this 4 tracker perfectly encapsulates his vision.
'I Release', opens with melodic chord stabs and heavy, warm analogue bass, swinging percussion drives the track on before a classic garage organ plays an unforgettable riff. 'I Realise' (Dub) strips it down and goes for a heads down vibe, a slammer of a track that never loses any of the original's devastating punch and potency. 'Nathalie X' brings the muscle, driven along by yet another monstrous speaker rattling b-line that builds and moves to an incredible peak, there's yet again top draw bumpin' drums and quintessential garage chords and keys. Lastly, 'Do Not Pass Go' is a classic sweaty basement jam. Gritty and more uncompromising in it's approach, banging kicks underpin the percussion that builds with those ever essential skipping snares and clipped hi-hats.There's hefty lo-slung bass throughout, whilst classic riffs and dubbed out chords lift the higher end.
This EP is sensational and a true rarity that every home should own, 'I Realise' has been legitimately re-released with the full involvement of Mred Marquez and has been remastered by London's Curve Pusher from the original sources especially for Mint Condition.

Another dyed-in-the-wool house classic here, from all the way back in the golden mists of 1987 on the tiny, cult Danica label. Don't forget, Mint Condition's mission is to bring you the classics too, a nice, new copy to play out in the club so you can keep your original nice and fresh! We care about these things. That's why we're happy to present this monumental slab of Chicago house history from one of the absolute gods of this culture - Mr. Frankie Knuckles - this time operating under his Night Writers alias. We're not sure too much needs to be said about this one, it's all here really, that classic Knuckles deep touch, the musicality, the vibe... Ricky Dillard's vocals encapsulating that feeling when the music takes over, pure abandon. The pairing of these two talents results in what would eventually become a bona-fide house CLASSIC. No arguments. If you're not familiar you're in for a treat, if you already know then you're nodding your head and agreeing with everything you've just read. Simple really - YOU NEED THIS ONE!

Set against the backdrop of Birmingham in1990, a 17 year old Peter 'Doggy' Duggal, inspired by Cybotron and Kraftwerk, would escape to his bedroom with the few pieces of musical hardware he'd collected, spending days eking out what sounds those machines could produce, thankfully Peter remained resolute and what resulted was his first EP 'Psyche' originally released on the pioneering UK label Rham! Records.
'Psyche' itself is an absolute gem, an infectious and unrelenting bass-line drives the track, while dystopian chords and strings populate the higher end. Next up previously unreleased 'Haze' heads into breakbeat territory, a sparser live jam recorded straight from the desk, but there's no shortage of bass bin rattling sub-bass, bleeps and emotion here. 'Dog Food's ominous intro gives way to pounding drum machine rhythms, more incessant bass, melancholic melodies and subtle breakdowns that keep the warehouse energy flowing. Rounding off this EP is the previously unreleased 'Psyche' (Alternative Mix), adding subtler bleeps, another genre defining classic that would give the original mix a run for it's money anywhere.
''Psyche' has been legitimately re-released with the full involvement of Peter Duggal and features previously unreleased tracks and never heard before versions that Peter has unearthed from his DATs. This is an essential archival piece, lovingly remastered by London's Curve Pusher from the original sources especially for Mint Condition. 100% legit, licensed and released. Iz & Diz's "Mouth" - Originally released on the seminal Chicago/London label Classic recordings way back in 2002 is a bonafide benchmark of modern House music, on it's release the records original flavour was a welcome breath of fresh air (pun intended!). By signing up the French genius Pepe Bradock on remix duties Classic had on their hands a future anthem. Bradock's singular, fresh production style pushed the track into the imaginations of numerous DJ's and ensured the track would find it's place in the bags and mixes of heads for years to come. Still sounding totally alien today with it's mix of human sounds twisted through digital treatments, Mint Condition are extremely proud to unleash these cult remixes backed with the unheard, unreleased versions and takes from the Pepe Bradock remix sessions for their debut release.
Across 3 tracks we get to sample the wigged out funk from the deepest recesses of Pepe's mind, his chopped up vocal samples and intricate percussive elements coming off sounding like Todd Edwards on acid and still sound completely new/insane today. In a sense MC001 is the "complete" package, the entire picture of "Mouth". Most of the versions included here have never been released before and have long been the stuff of legend! (watch out for that acapella!) An essential slab of wax for those who know, and for those who are seeking sonic adventure! Presented here are the full versions, dubs and alternative mixes of this monster remix. Released in 2000 on London's cult Oblong label, 100HZ's sublime 'Whisper / Funkin' is back on the streets. If you were doing the rounds in Soho back in the day, you will have undoubtedly copped some fine records from Berwick Street's 'Vinyl Junkies' store, the Oblong label was heavily connected to the store and to Bushwacka's equally cult Plank record label. 100HZ were one part of a pool producers connected to these crews and the burgeoning tech-house scene that was making waves at the turn of the millennium in the capital. Deep, sparse, taut and melodic production, strange sounds and left-field sonics, these were the ingredients of these extremely inventive and original UK sounds.
Elements of breaks, garage, Detroit techno and more all fused to create a truly groundbreaking sound. Since '89, 100HZ's Lee Renacre and James Chapman managed to craft a few classics, 'Whisper / Funkin' is just one of them! The a-side is a sleek, melodic cut with phased, vocoder-ish vox, an internal monologue touching on the stresses of modern city life and escapism. A contemporary classic. Side-B is some tight funk! Ultra stripped back production, killer drum programming, the sound of gliding along through a futuristic metropolis. Highly polished and progressive late-night house sounds right here. Essential all round! The real sound of London circa the millennium. Check it.

With releases on Sabres of Paradise and Hard Hands under their collective belts, and following the success of the 'Swirl' EP, Scott James and Chris Hayne unleashed the second instalment of their Sound Virus project 'Inverted Frequencies'. Originally released in limited quantities on their own Lux Recordings label in 1995, this rarity has become in demand to DJs, taste-makers and collectors the World over.
The 'Eerie Horn Mix' kicks off proceedings, soaring strings rise above an incessant bass, the percussion bumps and a potent synth riff takes this mix to another level. Next up, the 'Inverted Mix' goes deeper. Subtle delicate melodies are intertwined with emotive chords and dubbed out piano stabs that really lift the spirits.
Over on the flip the 'Xtrovert Mix' is the one for the heads, it's a more minimal affair, extending the track out to allow the elements to shine, whilst intricate drum programming keeps the mix exciting and relevant throughout.

Detroit bred / LA based producer Kenny Larkin has long been a force to be reckoned with, both in the studio and in the DJ booth. For over 2 decades this giant has supplied us with some of the deepest, most soul touching and verdant techno sounds the scene has ever presented. Larkin's music is always awash with human emotion, his machine tinged expressions hark back to the true sources of techno music where man always met machine and the soul was inherent. 'Serena X' always sounded like it had been beamed back to us, even in 1992 when she first appeared, bolstered by a classic remix from fellow Detroit techno auteur Carl Craig that saw C2 firmly innerzoning and adding in some trademark stellar chopped-up breaks to the mix. Both of these now classic and monumental tracks are included here, on this reissue, backed by the towering melodic workout that is 'Empirical Reality'. These tracks all stand tall today, a testament to the forward thinking style of Mr. Larkin. Remastered from his own source materials and with his full involvement, it's a pleasure to welcome 'Serena X' back into the ears and minds of today's listeners.

Originally released in 1998 this classic, stripped back, funked up workout from the mysteriously monikered Jean Caffeine (aka The Freaks' Luke Solomon) is a true underground UK House classic. Raw garage-esque drums drive the title cut 'Downtime, Turn Around And Go Backwards', the track skips along while these soul drenched creeping synth melodies and pads completely wash over us and engulf our senses... then, out of nowhere that wigged out bassline appears and we're locked in to a truly sublime groove that won't stop! Over on the flip we are treated to the subdued mellow groove of 'Jean's Train Of Thought', again crazy raw drum programming is accompanied by a sophisticated, bleepy jazzy feeling that goes super deep. The EP finisher 'Jean's Afterthought' carries on the minimal funk vibe of the rest of the EP - lean, driving drums, filtered loops and creeping synth sounds that weave in and out of the mix creating a mildly hallucinatory feel that is present throughout all 3 tracks. 'Downtime, Turn Around And Go Backwards' is a truly unique record with an original style that stood out in 1998 by miles and still sounds ahead of the curve now! A modern classic indeed.

Back to 1990 and the Uk's Bleep Techno scene is in full flow. Following the success of 'Psyche', Peter Duggal set about raising the bar yet again with his follow up
'Labyrinthe' under his new alias Demonik. Originally released on the UK's hugely influential Rham! Records, this EP perfectly soundtracked the early rave scene in the UK and beyond.
'Labyrinthe' itself needs no introduction, a truly mesmeric and highly sought after warehouse anthem. The previously unreleased 'Labyrinthe' (Raw Mix) keeps up the pressure. Retaining the heavyweight sub-bass, this mix heads off into a sparser world of machine made funk and rave inducing stabs, whilst skittish bleeps and tones overlay the sinister chords and strings. There's yet more gold from the vaults in the form of '6-5-0-2' a once lost, and now found, future classic of the genre, where infectious melodies interweave and really stir the electro soul. Lastly 'Frenzy' adds an uplifting synth riff, making this episodic ride a true Bleep and Bass Bomb!

Mint Condition would like to dedicate this release to the life of Andy Panayi, who sadly passed away on 28th September 2020, and all profits will be donated to the Peace Hospice in Watford, UK, who took great care of Andy towards the end of his life.
Although better known for his artistic output as Stopouts and A², back in 1997 Andy and Alec Stone turned their creative skills to the emergent UK Garage scene, producing this wonderful 4 track EP of fierce garage jams under the alias Upside, a one-off, originally released on seminal UKG label Underground Classics.
'Disco Killer' opens proceedings with melodic chords before a super thick b-line rolls in to overlay those essential skipping snares and swinging percussion. As the track unfolds, mesmeric synth riffs and deep chords bring the positive energy, vibes and an atmosphere like no other. 'Vibrations' is a deeper and much more melodious affair, featuring a warm bubbling b-line, haunting piano riff, intricate classic garage keys and melancholic pads that overlay a deftly programmed breakbeat and 4/4 drum workout that delivers the funk, depth and soul. 'House It Up' brings the NYC muscle, a proper heads down bumpin' affair. There's heavy kicks and an acidic bass that builds superbly before flipping into a warm cavernous sub. Positive pads and a clipped scat vocal create a fantastic late night garage house slammer. Lastly 'Nervous Dance' picks up the pace and thump, there's more acidic overtones, a hypnotic low slung bass, luscious strings, razor sharp hi hats and gritty percussion as it hustles and bustles it's way to the middle of the dance floor.
This is an essential piece of '90s UK Garage that we hope celebrates Andy's unique talent, musical vision, energy and dedication. 'Niteworks' has been legitimately re-released with the full involvement of Andy & Alec, also thanks to Rob and all at An Alien Recordings for helping bring this release into fruition. All the tracks have been lovingly remastered by London's Curve Pusher from the original sources especially for Mint Condition. 100% legit, licensed and released. dug, remastered, repackaged and brought to you by the caring folks at your favourite reissue label - Mint Condition!
