Bop has been spearheading the Microfunk movement since its foundations were built back in 2009 with his influential 'Clear Your Mind' LP. His artistic vision of crisp clicks, swoops, bites and beats creates a minimalist elegance that's given Russia it's own homegrown style of drum & bass. 'Not Your Cup Of Tea' EP is an electronic escape into a mystic matrix of computerized trills, robotic drum dances and deep cosmic bass. This coloured vinyl record released on Microfunk comes with an exclusive vinyl-only remix by Nuage in an eye-catching full artwork sleeve.
Med School Music veteran Bop launches his own label "Microfunk Music". The first release contains 4 minimalistic tunes, starting from the chill autonomic moods and the lovely nostalgic arpeggio of "Telescope" written by Bop and Synkro, moving to Nuage's fragile synths and luscious summer vocals, followed by a warm analogue bass in "Endless Green". In addition to these beautiful sounds, Microfunk Crew includes the more energetic, fit for the dance floor drum&bass with strong juke and ambient influences of "Crab Nebula". The EP is perfectly completed by Dissident with his kind and even slightly infantile soundscapes in "Design Yourself". This vinyl record is a great introduction to the label's unique sound. Each song has its own character and tells a specific story; however the whole piece sounds very organic and will definitely appeal to the intelligent electronic music fans.
Bop's label, Microfunk Music, releases it's second colourful piece of beautiful electronic music. A unique blend of rhythmic glitch, airy soundscapes and magic sounds with the participation of artists such as Robert Manos, Sileni, Oak, Dissident, Despot and Bop himself.
a1. Microfunk Crew - December (feat. Robert Manos)
Microfunk EP Volume 3 takes minimal drum n bass to a whole new level. While the starting track by Subwave and Bop has a strong summer flavor that's perfect for meeting the sunrise, the second one by Abstract Elements & Electrosoul System takes you on a spacey journey and drops you into its clean, minimalistic groove. On the flipside we have deep, smooth vibes by Dissident (aka Kontext) and a trippy IDM track by Microfunk Crew. You can easily drop the A-side to impress a party with the deeper side of drum n bass, whereas the B-side is well suited to home listening and chill-out rooms.
