Harrison BDP returns to Shall Not Fade for his seventh release for the label, this time on the house-oriented Lost Palms sub-label.
The prolific Welsh producer has gained well-deserved attention for his consistently exciting work over the past few years. He is rooted in the deeper side of house but experiments with minimalism and techno. Fresh off a release with French dub techno label Berg Audio, Harrison BDP brings some of that same energy to this smooth four-tracker.
Tom Vernon is a relatively new face on the house music scene. Hailing from the Channel Islands and currently based in Swansea, the young producer mines memories of his travels and brings gentle, seaswept beats to the fore in his debut vinyl release, Amber Fade EP on Shall Not Fade's blissed out sublabel Lost Palms.
The record opens out with clamouring field recordings taken on Vernon's travels in Japan; the cacophony melts effortlessly into the muted beauty of "Amber Fade", its cold synths and sombre chords striking a perfect emotional balance. "Tilted" similarly plays with ambient elements, lush pads easing their way out of the sounds of a waterfall but the natural sounds are contrasted by a touch of acidic 303. This hint of the club is forefronted in "Late Nights", which dials up the energy with chunky big room drum loops, a stirring piano section showing Vernon can turn up the heat without losing the emotional side.
On the B-side, "This Moment (I Feel)" toys with a muzak sound palette and dazed poolside beats. "Disappear" lean heavily on an electro beat; but for a hazy elongated drop it's a heady dancefloor number, before easing off again into the closing track. "Start Again" is full of texture and character, cleverly arpeggiated synths cascading over a soft house jam.

Colourful opener "Seele" marries hazy, lo-fi vocals with bright synths and dreamy pads. A lush escape, one for lazy days watching clouds pass by. Next, let the thick deep grooves of Broken wash over you - soulful, enigmatic vocals tug on the heart strings, dancing over a silky, mesmerising melody.
On the flip, "Departure" is a slow burning house number with Computer Data's own spin, stripped back kicks driving into an ethereal electronic wonderland. Taking us through to a soul-soothing sunrise, "Veloren" rounds out the EP. Uplifting, nonchalant, deep house to wash away your troubles.
San Fran’s finest, Computer Data has grown a cult following over the years, off the back of a wave of high quality dance discs on Lost Palms. His latest outing ‘Ego’ EP showcases some of his finest work to date, seamlessly blending dreamy synth patterns with dusty drum sequences and gritty vocal hooks.
Shall Not Fade welcome mysterious producer DJ ÆDIDIAS to the family with a feel good slice of dreamy house music, backed with a killer remix from long time friend and collaborator DJ Swagger.
