Infernal Sounds embraces two new artists with the 12th release to date on the label. This time, it's the combined energy and musical flow of Bukkha and Subtle Mind, featuring guest vocals from Bristol's Dutchie, alongside a sax cut of the title track. Having already branched across numerous different styles during the label's journey thus far, this EP signifies the more vibey sound, with dub-orientated elements and instrumental input. This EP may not be a dance floor destroyer, but will certainly put you in a rhythmic, feel good mind frame, through the three beautifully composed tracks.
In the wake of the hugely successful IFS002 from Sepia earlier this year, rising deep dubstep label Infernal Sounds returns with a release from Illusive German heavyweights Shu and Causa, who bring their nuanced, earthy meditation on Dubstep to IFS003. Both sides of IFS003, from collaborative A side Dubhelmet, to B-sides Dawn Chorus and System One, are filled to the brim with minimal, sound system vibes and analogue sound design.
Causa returns to Infernal Sounds for his debut solo release, after his previous two outings in collaboration with Shu (IFS003) and as part of the VA Crimson LP (IFS025). This time he presents two standout tracks, and a strong message to go alongside. With the world requiring more sustainability and less waste, this record has been created with the most measures possible to create a greener record - The 12" are made in a completely climate-neutral way, the material having been recycled, all unavoidable Co2 emissions have been offset, the cardboard/centre labels are either FSC approved or via recycled means, and even the artwork has been made with all of this in mind, using minimal ink work and a restricted colour pallet to limit the amount of waste throughout.
Not only that, but the two tracks on the 12" absolutely slap, radiating that trademark Causa swampy-sound. 'Haiy' kicks off the proceedings with a reverberating lead before plunging you into a frenzy of mid-range madness, and bass-curdling pressure. 'Untitled R V3 C' has been a long sought after dubplate, having done the rounds for a few years. It's a proper groovy, swinger, providing you with pure invigoration.
For their next venture, Infernal Sounds brings together two titans in the scene marking #IFS026 with a collaborative EP from returning family member Chad Dubz, and debutant Somah. The Business EP is a goliath, featuring full-throttle sounds on the title track 'The Business' to kick things off properly. 'Naraka' follows in the same vein, producing a rough and rugged low end which you can feel deep in your chest, whilst 'Amplify' provides a stripped back, bass heavy affair. 'Unresolved' closes the EP, rounding things off with a more melodic skanker.
The release has already received some strong support in the scene from the likes of Truth, J:Kenzo, Sicaria Sound, N-Type and many more, making it a must own 12".
Infernal Sounds brings forth the lucky number 13 with a bone-crunching EP from Bristol's finest, Chad Dubz. Having already enjoyed a successful run of releases during 2018, he steps up with a variety of tracks showcasing the hidden depths to his productions, bridging the gap between dubstep and grime, eloquently.
There's plenty of different flavours across all three tracks which have been providing damage to many clubs across the world over the past few months, and arrives to you on a heavy-weight 180g plate.
Infernal Sounds welcomes Cluekid back to the fray, returning to release two of his most sought after dubs in 'Electric Avenue' & 'Horizontal'. The legendary producer throws you right back to the '08 days on the A side, taking you in with straight junglist sampling and a low-end wobble of a freshly set blamanche. 'Horizontal' displays the same sort of traits, but gives you an added dub-flex through the backdrop melody, and a low-end you'll feel right down in your stomach. It's an ultimate double XL.
The 14th release on the IFS imprint is a really special one, from a legend in the 140 scene, Cluekid. He makes his return to 12", after a very successful release with Canadian imprint Vinyl Vigilance, and dishes up two lost dubplates which have been needing the plate treatment for years. Having already received heavy support from the likes of J:Kenzo, V.I.V.E.K, Darkside and Distance, this release is a must have. Particularly with the added addition of the full sleeve artwork, designed by Emily Dayson Illustration.
Infernal Sounds welcomes their newest member to the imprint, Dark Tantrums. After a brief hiatus from releasing music, the producer who's had previous EP's out on both Deep Medi and GetDarker is back with a bang. From the millitant march of 'Command', to the distorted and twisted mind of 'Darkside', with 'Time Warp' rounding things off in a typical old-school fashion, this EP will knock your socks off and deliver a punch for the dance floor. IFS011 not only displays his ability to adapt his style under the 140 spectrum, but continues to prove why he's one of the most underrated artists to grace the scene.
Infernal Sounds welcome the return of the illusive Irish producer Darkimh, plating up the scorching 'Tell Me Nothin' EP' as the follow up to his #IFS009 release which hit shelves in 2018. The title track features Manchester MC T-Man (one part of Levelz), a collaboration in the works for some time, providing the ultimate weight deliverance to the dance floor, igniting rigorous energy as soon as the tune drops. Darkimh backs this stand out piece with two different flips - a more trapped out track in 'Gin Swing' and the surreal and spacious number, 'Boneclick'. All tracks are perfect for different vibes and different situations, whether it's at home on your own, out at a house party or ready to lay siege on the dance floor. The release features a full sleeve artwork piece - designed and photographed by Gabrial Deacon.
Having received major support from the likes of Commodo, Sicaria Sound, N-Type and Truth, amongst many other top drawer DJ's, this is a must-own piece of black crack - pressed on 180g vinyl.
The 9th release from the Infernal Sounds imprint is probably the darkest and most twisted yet. Hailing from Ireland, Darkimh brings forth his own invigorating style of bass music, and his first to appear on 12”. Backed by a remix from none other than Malleus, and a collaboration with Taiko, this EP is not to be messed with. Every side of the 180g plate will unleash energy and force onto any dance floor.
The 8th instalment on Infernal Sounds comes from the mind of Bristol based, DE-TÜ. Intricate sound design and dubwise pressure reigns supreme throughout this three track EP, all armed and ready to annihilate any dance floor.
DE-TÜ make their long awaited return to Infernal Sounds. Having previously released on IFS008, IFSXXX002 and also featuring on IFS018 alongside DRPTNDRP, this double header may be their highest calibre of dub-influenced 140 to grace the label. 'Roadblock' kicks off proceedings in the best way possible, hitting you deep in the belly with monumental amounts of weight on the drop, whilst layering a reverberating vocal lead and a daunting backdrop to bring you deeper inwards. The flip however, 'St. Paul's (City Road Dub)' takes things in a slightly different direction. Although it still provides that trademark DE-TÜ sound, it's certainly orientated more around the soundsystem, providing a perfect flex within the dubwise sound. It's the perfect example of progression as all the elements fold and merge, creating a track that will captivate you from start, to finish.
The release has already received heavy support from the likes of J:Kenzo, Truth, Leftlow, Kursk (Innamind Recordings) and a few other reputable DJs.
The next IFSXXX white label, vinyl-only is here. For the second instalment, Infernal Sounds welcome Bristol based duo, DE-TÜ to the platter and dish up a weighty two-tracker ready to rattle the rib-cages far and wide. The duo have been making seismic waves the past couple years, having already released on IFS' main catalogue, alongside a killer EP on White Peach, it's only fitting they deliver yet another top drawer EP for this series.
IFSXXX001 from Sir Hiss managed to sell 500 copies in 30 minutes, with the follow-up 500 copies also selling out within days. So if that's anything to go by, this will be snapped up in quick fashion. With the release already receiving support from Mala, Sicaria Sound, Kahn & Neek, Bukkha, among many more, it's a solid addition to any record bag.
DPRTNDRP make their debut on Infernal Sounds as they dish up their 'What Ya Mean' EP - supplying an adapt range of sounds and styles throughout this 4-tracker, which also features a collaboration with DE-TÜ.
Showcasing the skills inside the Italian collectives repertoire, the A-side tunes 'What Ya Mean' and 'Faya Blazin' provide the twisted, out-there perspective and gives homage to the new-breed 140 sound. Whereas the B-Side material drives closer to old-school, hitting the weight on full throttle, instilling heavy wobs to the mainframe of the beats. Both 'Ambush' and 'Trasher' are stinkers. The release has received heavy support from the likes of J:Kenzo, Distinct Motive, BunZer0 amongst many other top drawer DJ's around the globe. If you want something to invigorate the energy levels on the dance floor, look no further.
One of the hottest upcoming artists in the 140 spectrum, Fiend debuts on Infernal Sounds with the beautifully mesmerising Emeralds EP. The Bristol-based producer has previously released on the likes of J. Sparrow's Navy Cut and most recently on Chord Marauders, displaying his versatility and ease to produce tracks of various styles and soundscapes. This release is no different, acutely bending between the lighter textures with 'Emeralds', to the more heavy and soundsystem kicking 'Solar', whilst finding the perfect balance of light and dark in the B2 track, 'Omen'. To top it all off, Infernal Sounds have called on their cavalry and one of their elite in dub-master Bukkha has given the title track, 'Emeralds' his own spin to add another tier of depth to this already, magical EP. The aesthetic of the release is once again polished to perfection, with Emily Dayson Illustration returning to give the plate an extra special touch on the artwork centre labels.
Over the past year, the release has received heavy support from the likes of Truth, J:Kenzo, Sicaria Sound, Taiko and Quasar, among many others. It's one to add to your collection, so you can blast it at home, take it for a spin on the dance floor or even frame on your wall - a really special release from top to bottom, inside and out.
Infernal Sounds strip things down and go back to basics with their next endeavor, returning to their roots by releasing a two track single by debutants, Frenchless. Not only is it their first venture on the label, but this is their first ever release under this moniker from the mysterious deadly duo.
The release kicks off with hypnotic melodies on '3C 273', breaking into a chest-thumping ruckus of drums and snare slaps, it's a modular-infused medley of mid-range tones. Unlike the A side, 'Grunks' carries a slice more swagger, swinging you back and forth with the bassline stomp. It's one of those you need to feel rattle your ribcage on the dancefloor.
A truly monumental debut from unknown, and someone you'll want to keep your eyes on in the future.
The release has already received heavy support from the likes of Digital Mystikz on BBC Radio 6, Mala, BunZer0, Kursk (Innamind) and many more.
It's been a few years since Gemmy returned with a release, but he's back in business with a brand new 12 on Infernal Sounds. Entering the imprint on the milestone 30th release, this is a record of pure character and old-school licks that you'd be more than accustomed to if you've listened to the purple-laced producer in previous years. 'Irreversible Culture' kicks things off with a rough and tough low end kick and step, layering that ultimate groove and steppers delight. 'Destination' opens up the B-Side business, taking the direction a little lighter with nimble percussion, progressive mid-range tones, elevating you higher with a playful drum-pattern and vocal-snip mastery. RSD comes bounding in on the B2 remix of 'Irreversible Culture', showing just why he's one of the most lauded producers around, still to this day. The veteran takes the original track and spins it into a deep, dark 2-step roller, giving you those minimal and garage style undertones on the low-end driver. The release has already received heavy support from the likes of Bandulu Gang (Hi5Ghost, Boofy, Kahn & Neek), Joker, Neffa-T and many more reputable DJs.
Infernal Sounds are back with their 6th release on the label, this time with the combined minds and talent of Japanese based artists, Karnage and the infamous Rider Shafique on vocals. The A side, ‘Realise’ providers a weighty influx, featuring the elemental voice of Rider, backed by a rugged roller in the form of ‘Bayside Shakedown’ on the B side.
For their next venture, Infernal Sounds welcome debut signing Nova to the fold as he plates up some of his best cuts for the 'Bonafide' EP. The title track yields a wonked out, low-end sideways stepper - a homage to the new-school sounds but laced with a sprinkle of the old-school; while the second track to feature on the A side, 'Single Fuse' is a much more groove laced medley of sounds and playful percussionary elements. 'Fivers' opens the B side business with the most eyes down low-end flex, stripping things back with a minimalist yet hypnotic beat. The final track to feature, 'Intricacy', is a collaborative piece with the legendary Foamplate - someone who is unmatched when it comes to producing tunes of this BPM and vibe, and it's a match made in heaven, layering a forward thinking mid-range over the top of a bone-shuddering bassline.
This EP is something truly special, topped off with the intricate and acute sleeve design by Leftanderson, it's a must own for any soundsystem lover and vinyl enthusiasts.
The release has already received heavy support from the likes of Truth, Sicaria Sound, Headland, Neffa T and many more.
After much anticipation Infernal Sounds finally bring their first musical offering to the table with a 2 tune vinyl and 3 tune digital release from the one and only Perverse. They're a fitting duo to honour the introductory release on the label, branching out from an already highly successful life on Youtube. With merch and even more news on the way, it's fitting this release sees the light of day now with a release just into the new year planned, so get saving those pennies.
Side A 'IO' starts with an airy intro with light highs and snares dancing around an atmospheric flutter. It builds brilliantly to a rigorous roller, with surging bass lines and a continued medley of interestingly arranged drums. With complex joints between growling notes, this tune does not disappoint and gets the release off to a fantastic start. On side B 'Aye Aye', a weightier track with a slightly more stomping element against the first tune's rolling atmosphere. The highs in this tune are perfection, dancing around the bass lines creating a really tangled but organised collection of sounds around a rigid bass line. The minimalistic notes in the later bars only add to the rising vibes of this tune, concluding the tunes included on the vinyl.
The eternal sunshine of Infernal Sounds returns for their seventh installment of vinyl releases - yet another high-pressure 12" curated by the fierce UK-based imprint. Seeking to maintain their hefty presence, Infernal Sounds invites a revered bass music producer out of San Francisco by the name of Saule - joined by a mean-spirited remix from Chestplate's Mesck. FatKidOnFire, one of UK's most regarded publications, states: "One of the hottest Dubstep records of 2017".
No.17 marks the return of Sepia to Infernal Sounds as he pops the lid open on some long-lasting dubs from his locker. The title track, 'Flutez' is an uplifting journey, and has been in constant rotation across the dance floor for over 3 years now, having received support from the likes of Truth, Foamplate and Sicaria Sound.
The B1 'Cross The Line', a more recent creation from the Bristol-based producer switches it up and delivers a more direct, cut-throat aggression through the chopping synth, conjuring up a sense of anguish, with the appropriate addition of a daunting vocal sample. Stripping things back and rounding things off is 'Tales From The Crypt', a perfect way to bring things down and lay out that trademark Sepia sound. Emotive notes and progression gives this track a real all-round feel of solace.
The EP has also received support from Mala, Distance and Darkside, amongst others.
Infernal Sounds reaches a milestone by welcoming one of their previous family members, Sepia back onto 12”. It’s a journey from start to finish, and a collection of tracks which can change any dynamic within the club depending on the vibe you’re looking for.
