Breakage returns for the fifth release on his own label Index, the aptly titled 'India November Delta Echo X-Ray' EP.
In a very short space of time, the label has become a go-to for fans and artists alike. The high-quality threshold of the label and its output has resulted in unanimous appreciation from all those listening, most notably Annie Mac who recently tweeted "Breakage. One of the best to do it."
The release contains four tracks that carry the unmistakable Index 'sound' forward once more. For the first time a guest arrives on the label in the shape of the incomparable Break for a remix of ‘As We Enter'- Break was specifically chosen as an artist that implicitly understands what Index and Breakage are all about.
The first single from the EP 'Valhalla' sets out the intention of the release. We are given that vintage Breakage sound with all the hallmarks of 2020 sonic perfection. Valhalla is the 'flag in the sand' for what the rest of the EP holds, an exciting prospect for newcomers and established fans of the label and artist.
Breakage continues his excellent run of releases on his own label with the Liff Up EP. The fourth release showcases the different shades within the current Index aesthetic, confidently showing you can recontextualise definitive jungle and drum & bass sound palettes by avoiding throwback cliches and keeping to a consistently high production value. The label has been a runaway success for Breakage, a place where he can make and release the sound closest to his heart and the results have shown that this is the perfect place for the storied producer.
