Dubquake Records presents a new addition to its modern roots singles: Jamaïcan poet & Dubquake veteran Nazamba meets Telly* (aka Biga*Ranx) the prince of Vapour dub on this sweet lo-fi summer hit “Do Me Right”. A severely chill 7” release to play on repeat!

Nina Girassóis, hailing from São Paulo, compliments the track with her sweet voice, singing and raising awareness about the ongoing Brazilian social-economic crisis. Nina tells us “Brazil is a country that’s rich in resources but only very few people get to reap the benefits. It’s not getting better with the current political situation. The lyrics were written in 2012, but things just kept on getting worse and worse”.
After years of anticipation, here are the Iration Steppa “90s CLASSIC CUTZ”, an exclusive re- edition of five seminal UK Dub tracks that revolutionised reggae & electronic music in the 90s!
All tracks have been remastered to perfection by Fédé (DK Mastering) and put onto five separate 12” slabs of wax. And to spice it up even more, each release features original mixes + previously unreleased dubplate cutz that could only be heard live on the sound system!
These tracks were produced and mixed by Iration's founding members Mark Iration and Dennis Rootical at the High Rise Studio in Chapeltown, Leeds. At the time, the dub-making-duo were heavily experimenting with new sounds, blending dub with acid soundscapes in a way that had never been done before. Their pioneering approach resulted in the creation of a whole new sub- genre, later inspiring future generations to create their own...

A roots reggae vibe, a nonchalant melody...We’re kicking back, Jamaican style, with a glass of warm beer poured from the latest collaboration between O.B.F. & Nazamba.
Drinking a cold beer in a hot country isn’t necessarily the best idea. Your body starts to think that it’s cold, and slows the perspiration that helps you to control your temperature. Result: you actually feel hotter. But a warm beer, according to any Jamaican barman worth his salt, can just as easily be drunk in the morning as at midday or when the night falls.
Nazamba may sing the praises of cold drinks to Aza Lineage, taking her on a tour of the best ice-cold beverages on the planet, but she refuses to give in: “ A cold beer, never!” This single is best served with the animated clip made by Laska and one of the 500 limited edition, specially stamped “Hot Beer” bottles.
O.B.F.’s identity and style has been built across the globe: from the heights of Alps to the burning sun of Jamaica, between headline performances at Spanish festivals and sets in the barrios of Latin America or the dancehalls of London. Their music is unlike any other. But for the doubters among you, a single listen to “Signz” will provide indisputable proof of that truth.

“Curfew” is the first installement of the new collaborative series between Thompson Sound and Dubquake Records for Nazamba’s forthcoming project.
The idea sparked when legendary singer/producer Linval Thompson met Rico O.B.F. He asked if Rico wanted to rework stems from some of his label’s classic tracks from the 70s and 80s.
First track from this collaboration “Curfew” by Linval Thompson, played by the Roots Radics, was initialy released in 1980. The song was written as Jamaica was going through a civil war. Political conflicts between the JLP and the PNP, the country’s two main political parties, turned to the streets and over 800 Jamaicans perished to the violence. Linval sings about the curfew and the police oppression that took place during this troubled time.
Nazamba adds his dub-poetry on “Curfew Drop”, which draws a parallel between the original track and the recent worldwide lockdowns.
