After 2 years of honing, crafting and sonic manipulation, Books’ debut ‘Station’ album is ready for earthly transmission and this is the sampler to the album. A reimagining of Drum & Bass dynamics, the album will explore expansive depths juxtaposed against impossibly finite intimacy of mind.
DAAT’s new 4 track EP explores the outer cusp of the philosophy that has informed their music to date: theorized worlds, autonomous life, and interactive environments. Delivering 4 distinctively different tracks, DTND004 is an explicit look behind the curtain of the duo’s creativity. Having already enjoyed support from BBC Radio 1, DTND004 is poised to be DAAT’s most notable work. Operating outside the confines of genre or scene restrictions, we are now beginning to see DAAT move into a flow state.
The latest 12" from Detuned Transmissions sees Overlook, ASC and RQ reinterpret works from DAAT's HVAC album. Deconstructing, rearranging and re-tuning the original versions, re-establishing the tracks with new meaning while maintaining their original essence.
Overlook lends his talented hands to ‘Fridge’ which was already a strong dancefloor track. Giving the original a new sheen, Overlook has given the track a new dimension that sends shock waves through the dance like a burgeoning ghost ship relentlessly sailing through the darkness.
ASC’s remix of ‘Apache’ is a story of two halves, building to a crescendo before thundering into some pacey dynamics. As ever ASC has made this track his own, a true remixer at work.
‘Running Man’ was a deep track in DAAT’s hands, but RQ’s delicate nuances deliver ethereal ambience that seamlessly plateaus into nothingness. Let the world just fall away when you listen to this one.
