Closing off the 'Another Way' remix series, the third and final release comes from Calyx & Teebee and Breakage. This special single concludes a series which has seen Symmetry welcome Workforce, Skeptical and Mefjus to remix tracks from Break's 'Another Way' album.

Calyx & Teebee return to the label, a decade since collaborating with Break on the 'Resistance LP'. Delivering a simply mammoth rework of 'Keepin It Raw', the duo raise the adrenaline whilst adeptly retaining the original groove; adding an incisive edge in true Calyx & Teebee fashion.

Breakage completes the release with a much anticipated debut appearance on Symmetry. Reheating the dubbed out flavours of 'Conversations', Breakage perfectly compliments the soulful vocals of Fats & Cleveland Watkiss, switching up the vibe to an authentic jungle stepper.

Bakongo comes proper with two stripped back drum workouts for TRULE’s 10” series. UK Funky pioneer Roska has been making great percussion tracks under his Bakongo alias for some time now. On Thirteen/Level Cowbell he continues this with two rugged, skeletal drum tracks with minimal bass and the faintest trace of texture in there that absolutely demand to be moved to.

It's been a very long time coming, but finally I can say the joint Skeleton release from Antidote and Threshold is here and it exceeds all expectations.

This project started way back in the Summer of 2019 after a long chat with Antidote about him having his own Skeleton EP. To say he was excited and felt honoured is an understatement.

He immediately started working on something fresh that he thought would be a good fit for the label, but unfortunately, in October 2019, before he could fully finish the track he was sadly and unexpectedly taken from us. As well as leaving a void in our lives, he also left a void in the release schedule and I still somehow wanted him to be part of it.

Leeds based Paul Woolford dares to go where few others do. He can do face-melting underground bangers, peak time piano anthems, ambient cinematics or chart climbing crossover hits. What unites his work as Special Request across labels like Houndstooth and R&S, though, is precision engineering, but never at the expense of real, raw emotion and visceral impact. He is an artist who very much pours his heart into everything he does, and has been on such a prolific run in recent years that it has been impossible to keep abreast of all his many projects. Even in this mix, he hints at yet more new sides and sounds.

As always with Special Request, this is an emotional, full spirited ride through the musical mind of one of the most accomplished artists of the day.
