"I've always tried to make music for clubs and outward facing experiences, but often in spite of my best efforts I end up supplying a sound that translates best on a private level. The communal listening experience is great, but not my favorite, never been. I have been escaping into albums on a solo mission for as long as I can remember. As a result I've developed a familiar closeness with dealing with myself and the emotions I navigate on a daily basis. Heaven is for Quitters is at it's heart about dealing with yourself, both the good and the bad. I want to share this album with the hope that it can be used as I have; a guide, a blanket, a reassurance that the path I have chosen is the right one. It is my job to share my experience and there is a lot of work to be done here on Earth, the thought of going to Heaven too early is paralyzing. I venture to think you'll agree. When I started Blueberry Records I didn't fully know what I was creating. It is fitting then that I release Heaven is for Quitters on my label, as it has become abundantly clear how much I love this label and what it is and can be, my future but ultimately continue to be a platform for others as well. When artists hand me their demos I see what Blueberry can be, this megaphone for peoples inner existence and a clear channel for their articulation. You know that feeling when you are so close to something you can't see the bigger picture, but when you step back you see what you have made and it is a mirror image of yourself? That. This album is for those who've chosen their own path and all of its uncertainty and end up finding themselves along the way. How the roller coaster of life sounds. It is about Blueberry Records as much as it is about my daily life. I am thankful everyday for opportunity, both granted and created. Follow your own inner light. And please, please listen loudly. I make music to the specifications of my studio. It honestly all sounds best right here. And even better at one spot at the mixing desk in particular. You should come over and hear it".
If All The People Took Acid, we wouldn’t get much done. FaltyDL’s second release on his own imprint Blueberry Records. And it sees him going back to basics. Dance floor bubbling lead track “If All The People Took Acid” jacks you directly into an updated ACID soundscape. The tune also gets remix treatment from the inimitable Octo Octa, taking the acid squelching to an even higher level. Both sample someone explaining their experience with acid from a 1960’s documentary on Acid and its effects on the brain. Flesh Of Acid & Scream Acid are both designed to catch you off guard on the dance floor, perhaps even terrify you. Its an energy thing, we believe clubs should be both safe and electrifying at the same time. That feeling of entering a club and not knowing what the night will hold… it’s the same feeling you got as a kid when you climbed a tree to high and thought, shit I might not make it down. But you always did, you always did. EP comes housed in a beautiful sleeve designed by longtime FaltyDL collaborator, Tom Simon.
Yo Falty why don’t you do the old school shuffle anymore? What happened, maaaaan? OK, held this one back from 2011. All the garage and 2-step workouts I made were inspired by hours and hours of listening to Horsepower Productions, Zed Bias, El-B, Darqwan… I studied them. This tune in particular inspired by Benny Ill himself. Ill Bent was never released, I always held back some exclusives for my sets. No one had it. Benny Ill remixed the track in fine style, both Straight up and with a Fat Larry spin. We were talking, Benny and I, and he mentioned he used to live in Brooklyn. So he submitted Is It Safe, a tune he made while living not far from where I live now in NYC, to conclude the EP. Heavy! (note, the first letter in Benny’s last name is a capitol “i”) Track A1 produced by FaltyDL Track AA1 produced by Benny Ill Track A2 and AA2 produced by FaltyDL, remixed by Benny Ill.

Frosty… 4 ice cold trax from Toby Smith AKA Tobias Schmidt and 1/2 of Sugar Experiment Station. Following the release of the new EP by SES alongside Neil Landstrumm who coincidentally designed the sleeve for this record as well, comes the “Arctic E.P.” Jacking Detroit Techno meets footwork on these 150 BPM plus hitters. Get your party started or send everyone home with this rave gear. Not a lot is known about Toby Smith and we at BBR like the mystery. Let these tracks tell you everything you need to know about the myth that is the… Secret State.
A perfect blended mixture of real instrument playing and sampling, Uffe concocts a delicious menu across the entire EP. Clearly a product of many influences, Uffe demonstrates his full range of artistry with vocalized tracks on the A side by himself and dub analog studio pressure on the B side. 'As Long As It lasts' and 'When There Is No Sun' both show Uffe as the Lothario crooner that one he can be. On EP title track "Whose Life" Uffe channels Arthur Russell with his off kilter slightly out of tune at times nonchalant attitude. Forget auto tune, this is European soul music. In the middle of Last Call the record does a 180 and changes its direction, only to return later towards the last half of the final track, bookmarking the EP. His vocals sound like Caribou one moment and Arthur Russell the next. Uffe is currently sitting in his studio, Vaping. Drew x
