Banoffee Pies Records, in its eighth year of operating, hit the 20th release milestone in their Original Series. Joining the roster, Cairo based producer Hassan Abou Alam steps up with a 4 track solo EP entitled "Fasla".
A decisive selection of attitude packed wormhole bass lines and dark basement jams.
The A side was produced in a special collaboration with local artist SHBL-LBSH who's vocal works feature across "Kesibt" + "Fasla". The B side delivers a series of sharp and cutting synth lines in "Mawkif" and breakneck low end rumbles in "Hanshoof".After a series of works on the likes of Naive, Not For Profit and Rhythm Section, Hassan fittingly joins the Berlin based, Bristol born label with more boundless sounds that slice through the fabric of styles that BPR have fostered since inception. Tailored club music fromone of Egypts new wave of producers.Hold your hats and check your Bassbins.
Banoffee Pies Records 19th release in the Original Series lands with a very special solo EP entitled "Static" from Melbourne based Producer/DJ, Pugilist. Alex has been making incredible selections of bass infused, UK and Dub tinged music for many years. A fitting welcome on BPR as the label hits it's 8 year anniversary since its inception in 2014. The platform continues to evolve with an ever growing number of releases representing different sounds across its sublabels and many blossoming side projects alongside.
To honour the frequent mood changes and feelings of relative isolation experienced in the last 2 years, the A side aims to reconnect those lost moments with "Déjà Vu" & "Future Retro" - both tracks channeling a UK centric sound for the dancefloor and a further proof of the depth and quality found across Pugilist's back catalogue. The B side flaunts a completely parallelled sound palette with "Static", a down tempo dubby track partnered by the beautifully stylish "Sky Blue". A combination of anthems and cloud hopping ballads for the record collectors. Much love, BPR. X
Banoffee Pies Records 18th release in the Original Series continues with another speaker hugger via a 4 track EP from HearThuG. The Tunisia based artist, digger, and "Are You Alien" label/party founder joins the Banoffee fray with "Planet Rhythm X".
The Producer / DJ who honed a craft in sample twisted acid and breaks, drops their first solo release since 2018. A friendly face pushing the the local scene with an impressive output of heavily chaptered synth jams.
The lead track "Earthling" sets a welcome signal with a low key wiggle, chopped drums and pinching acid lines ahead of the title tune "Planet Rhythm X" on the A2, which shifts to a 4x4 launch pad and countdown. "The Land Of The Never Ending Jazz" opens the B side with a superb 9 minute exploration of playful melodies and jazz keys, with a classy twirl. The EP closes out with an ear worm and soft breaks in the form of "Love Lesson", featuring the smooth vocal works of local artist Fig Republic on the B2. Much love BPR x

Letting the music do the talking, first up on the sub label is a 4 track split EP between London's Tim Reaper & Toronto based Comfort Zone. Eyes on the source. BPR x
For the second Re-Issue Series release we team up with London duo Euphonic for a deep dive into their back catalogue set across two releases featuring a number of artists who they collaborated with after the projects inception in 1997.
The group, consisting of lead producer Rob Henry and former Graffiti artist turned DJ Nick Trimm, fuse intricate programming and bass lines with traditional jazz/blues instrumentation and vocals to produce a diverse and varied selection of aural pleasures.
A chance encounter at the Blue Note club in Hoxton lead the pair to travel to New York to record with friends from the Brooklyn Hip Hop underground, including dr. Israel, Soothsayer, and Kirsty Rock, where both versions of "Jah Science" and "Revolution-Solution" were recorded.
These tracks were originally released on the Different Drummer label in 1998 and have long been unavailable...until now! Here's a taster of what's to come. Eyes peeled for part two.

b1. Revolution-Solution (OG BassMind Mix) Ft. Soothsayer, dr. Israel & Kirsty Rock
The Limited Series reaches it's 10th release milestone with another 5 track compilation from some of our favourite artists at the moment. BPLS010 is a collection of leftfield UK Techno and broken beats for the dancefloor.
The opening track comes from Bristol based Yushh, head at the Pressure Dome Label, with "Fidget Spanner" featuring a hypnotic garage vocal looped over steppy techno drums, followed by Kincaid on the A2, who returns to the label after his latest split EP "Single Cell" on BP016, this time working with vocalist J. Caesar on the deep spoken word trip of "Inside".
Tristan Arp, one half of the Asa Tone project, also returns after his solo EP "Slip" on BP012 in 2020, with "Circling The Abyss" with a refreshing use of the Cello laid expertly on polyrhythmic drum patterns. PinballSpider makes their label debut with a warm and stripped back minimal ear worm on "In One Ear", while Johnny Hunter, Pleasure Club Label favourite, closes things off with the drum heavy percussion of "89' Brakes". The mood is Red. One Love. BP x
Banoffee Pies Records 17th Original Series release comes via a 4 track Solo EP from Gallegos, making a return after his debut EP "Mad As Hell" in 2018. Along with multiple appearances on compilations and other series on the label, this record is a nostalgic reflection of UK club culture. A "Sentiment Of Love" - the EP title and opening track is a tribute to a different time.
A positive selection of tracks, starting on the A1 with a Winehouse sample, immediately carves the path for what is always a collection of expert sampling from our longest standing label member. The A2 offering, "Put Me In", is a beating club anthem full of heavy distortion and all the acid lines you'd hope for in a moment at the back of a club. A feeling evoked. One Mitsy down.
The B1 "Together Flyin' High" continues this moment with an elevating vocal and ringing synths layered with Broken Beats and the heavily percussive drum patterns Gallegos' sound is so closely developed around. The last track on the release "Before Or Since", immediately teleporting you to the end of a night. Something inward, for a time and place, future or past. BPR x
Banoffee Pies Records 16th Original Series release comes via a 4 track Split EP collaboration between Kincaid, and Zenzizenz, the ambient moniker of techno producer Viers. After a long year behind us, and likely ahead, this record takes a temporary step into the calm and adds reflection to the blurred months that passed.
The release is a collection of textural bumps and melodies opening with Kincaid's 9 minute "Slow Stumble Home" - an aptly titled down tempo trip through a confused space, layered with composition, like a Playstation home screen theme on Mushrooms. Calm follows with two tracks from Zenzizenz - "Returning From Home", a steady meditation through rumbling sounds soon shift to a new mood on the B side. "Falling Off" offers a more lethargic wandering mood through the marshland before BP016 comes to it's close with "Single Cell", the 2nd Kincaid track, which concludes with a chaptered 4x4 structure and slow bursts of energy within. Time to absorb. Love BP x
Banoffee Pies Records Black Label Series continues with a special solo EP from label favourite Len Lewis who steps up with a selection of 4 previously unreleased productions from the mid 2000's. Already a regular on the infamous UK Tech House Label Swag Records, and a deep back catalogue of trusted DJ gems spanning back to the 90's, we were very excited to welcome him on board the label.
The A side offers two Sub heavy Breakbeat weapons with "Get On It" and a jump into the Sith world with "Darkside". The B side dips back into a 4x4 format with the swirling dance floor rhythm of "Tik Tok" and a playful and laid back house melody in "Projection Deep Dub", a track once approved by and handed to a member of the boy band Blue for a spin on Kiss 100. Make of that what you will to be honest. Much love. BP x
Banoffee Pies Records Black Label Series continues with the next Various Artist compilation - 4 low slung mood tracks for early AM riding the lines between Tech-House and 2 Step.
Monika Ross opens the selection with "Cut Strategy" on the A1, a dark winter spookyness set around 2 step glitches and delay. Tom Frankel takes over on the A2 with an ode to Green via "Terp Flavours". UKG inspired micro house - lockdown business. On the flip Mariiin drops her debut release entitled "Elif" on the B1 - a head down mover setting the tone for her future sound. The release then comes to a classy finish with deep mesmerizing rhythmic melodies on N-GYNN's "Yazdah" which fades away through another swinging vocal hook. Black Label Minimal. Much love. BP x
Banoffee Pies Records drop their third Beats release "Samba Del Sol" with Clifford Brown & Jeen Bassa Ft. Ella Mae Sueref - The album is influenced by Carnival and Latin sounds with Hip Hop drums and Soul roots - meeting in middle ground as an expression of the production duos upbringing, John's heritage in Mauritius and Cliffords childhood in South America. Partnered with Ellas Spanish language fluency and soft Badhu acclaimed voice as previously heard on the single "Stop Rewind" credited by the like of Gilles Peterson and Mr. Scruff.
The tracks were recorded on Garageband by Clifford Brown and Jeen Bassa with 2 Karaoke Microphones, mixed in Bath and later buried on a hard drive for over 6 years never to be heard again. Sliding into the forgotten darkness of lost tracks and rediscovered in 2017. The production, originally just an instrumental, was then found and reignited, revamped with a vocal insert from the wonderful Ella Mae Sueref. The 10 track album demonstrates a flurry of drums, latin inspired sampling, and mesmerizing vocals from start to finish. For the music and the lovers. Living room jams made in smoke. Banoffee xx In Loving memory of Anna Sueref.

Banoffee Pies Records 15th Original Series release comes from Cassius Select. Canadian born producer Lavurn Lee, now residing in his home city of Hong Kong, drops his latest solo EP "Heavyweight". His unique style and selective output has drawn our attention for some time. This release does exactly what it says on the tin. With previous appearances on the likes of Matthew Herbert's Accidental JNR., Hypercolour and more, he has maintained a primary focus on rhythmic structures, alienated textures and eerie vocalisations that flaunt a strong influence and appreciation for UK techno, Hip Hop, Garage, and all things Broken Beat.
The release kicks off with "Born To Defence", a mood setter scattered with punchy drum rolls and wild toms that set the tone for a harmonic palette across the 4 tracks. The A2 "Honda Civic" displays a tougher edge using a hybrid of sound. Pulsing late night business - Hatchback style. "Sicko Groove" gets the B side off the ground with a chest rattling, Grime inspired club track, sliding further up the weight divisions before things close off with "Guia Circuit", a more techy low end tool with notable energy shifts. BP015 sustains stripped back but relentless percussion throughout. "The Original Circuit Training Soundtrack". Love BP x
Banoffee Pies Records have paved their way in dance music as an eclectic label with little restraints on their sound or style as a free flowing and flexible music platform. Now the imprint ventures into a new genre spectrum with BPBEATS01 - the LP presents 12 tracks of dusty hip hop, heavy cut samples and original vocals from well renowned Beat maker Flo Filz and a group of local producers, further in keeping with their ethos of letting the sound do the talking and representing friends and family along the way. A record that will turn heads as another respected collectors item from the catalogue. Smokey jams for the lovers, hand selected by Banoffee Pies. x

The Limited Series continues with the 9th release on the sub label. BPLS009 presents a 5 track compilation of stripped back and scantily clad drum tracks. 2020 hasn't been the year for clubs so here's something low key. The opening track "Pitch Control" comes from Guava. A subtle composition of percussive tools and well crafted sub bass, further exploring his sound from previous appearances on Holding Hands and Control Freak. LUXE fka DJ Luz, the Manchester based producer and B.L.O.O.M affiliate provides her debut track "Falcon's Rise", a nostalgic remedy with a euphoric vox and scattered jungle drums.
Part two opens up to French producer Pipholp, his second appearance on the label, adding another broken beat, IDM inspired jazzy house entry with "Angers". A sense of patience between moods leaving you in limbo. Monotronique also joins with "Beat Himself" on the B2, a no nonsense bass heavy DJ tool for that specific peak occasion. More danger after his debut appearance on the Black Label Series (BPBL03) last year. In a total mood change, the release comes to a meditative close with "Wide Awake" from Padre Oe. A collaboration between Pete Lazonby, an artist with a long history most known for his chart heading solo production "Sacred Cycles" on Brainiak Records in the 90's, and Otto Fischer, a Nigerian free-improvising singer, lyricist and guitarist best known for his guitar work with the Alexander Hawkins Ensemble. The track also features Henry Lowther on trumpet, widely recognized as one the UK's best, and the strongest contributor to Talk Talk's Spirit of Eden with dozens of top of the pops appearances with a spanning list of important and renowned bands appearing at Ronnie Scott's to Woodstock. The mood is Blue. One Love. BP x
Banoffee Pies Records begin their newest venture with a nod to the past. Introducing the latest Re-issue series focusing on old and lost gems. All five tracks originally produced in 1991-1994. Paradise 3001 aka Dr Nunu kicks things off with "Low Sun Archives". A deep dive into a small section of his outstanding back catalog which flaunts many layers of adventurous and floor ready music across Trance, Techno, Ambient, Dub and DownTempo.
The release starts with "Several Huge Yellow Snaplike Somethings" - A forgotten beach trance titan with instant teleportation to another time, neatly followed by the mesmerising sunset plod of "Low Sun In Dub" riding slow at 94 bpm. Keeping steady, the B side opens with the heavy drums and spaced pads of "Inner Rhythm (Bio Sensitive Mix)". The second injection of speed comes from the tribal percussion and heavy swirling sounds of "Beautification Bang Bang Bang (Daktari Mix)". The release then falls to a calming close with "Gates Of Eden". Waving you off the shore into the night. For all the moods. Love BPR x
After the introduction of their Black Label Series pre summer - Part 1 exploring some dubbed out sounds - September begins and Part 2 lands bringing you closer to the dance floor. Groovy minimal business from the Banoffee camp. Do not sleep on this!
