Craft Recordings and Soulwax are pleased to celebrate Pride by producing a fresh and joyful remix of Sylvester's 1978 disco classic, 'You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)’.
"You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) - Soulwax For Despacio Remix” is available across digital platforms from June 25th, while a 12-inch release with a vinyl exclusive instrumental version on the B-side is available to pre-order now. It was made to play on the Despacio sound system, a 50,000 watt, state-of- the-art, vinyl only sound system which Soulwax created with James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem, DFA Records) & powered by McIntosh & Jordan Acoustics.
“Unlike other remixes where we usually replace most of the elements and make something radically different based around the vocal, we made this remix using only the parts we found on the original multitrack that we were so kindly given by the Sylvester estate. Even though we have played this song a million times, we discovered a few elements that we had never heard before, like a crazy Patrick Cowley synth solo and somewhere hidden before the start of the multitrack, the ending of what sounds like a gospel version of 'Mighty Real’. It was a huge privilege to be asked to remix this seminal track and we hope that Sylvester will dance to it, wherever he is” Soulwax

Following previous sold out instalments from Yadava, EVM128 & James Rudie, Partner Music, High Praise bossman Hugo Mari steps up to the plate for the 5th instalment of the label’s lauded edits series. Two action-packed, vinyl-only, bombs set for dancefloor detonation, the A-Side 'Tired Of Sitting Down' channels the past year's sedentary frustrations into a joyous invitation back to the club, whereas on the flip 'Acid Locomotive' is an intense, driving number, complete with uplifting fanfares and (as the title suggests) a little acid-tinged addition. Named King of the Edit since the 1980’s, pioneering Manhattan DJ Danny Krivit’s (aka Mr K) latest 12” delivery instils the title bestowed upon him some 30 years ago. An esteemed selector Danny’s prolific remixing and production capabilities have touched hundreds of records – with his signature flare shaping the New York City sound.
Opening the A-Side of the release, is Danny edit this summer’s seminal track The Vision’s ‘Heaven’, interweaving a gloriously groovy bassline with Andreya Triana’s vocal to produce an extended, DJ friendly mix that he sent crowds wild with at Dekmental Festival.
On the flip, Mr K delves a little deeper into the Defected catalogue, trying his hand at The DangerFeel Newbies’ ‘What Am I Here For (Original NDATL Vocal)’. Danny’s stripped back version extends the jazzy, percussive original, as velvety smooth vocals and elegant keys bring this expressive and sophisticated release to a close. A true master of the edit, music as good as this deserves to be heard on wax.
