Bourassa Records hosts PROCK's expert in broken sounds. An electronic wizard based in Lodz, he has been patiently cultivating his skills for many years, where back in the days he was familiar with the hip hop flavour. He made his debut with the EP 'Cosmic Lover' in the Røkt Laks project, released in 2016 by POGO House Records. Then the beat-making sneaker went towards UK Garage and 2Step. It can be said that he is fresh blood in the Polish field of electronic music.
The upcoming EP 'Champ Sound' is a strong material full of UKG sounds, it pays tribute to the old school garage vibes, enriched with characteristic vocals and moogy baselines for this genre. On the B-side you can expect great remixes from Polish homies such as PENERA & Private Press. The record is to be released at the turn of summer holidays. It will be available in two formats, as a 12” vinyl and a digital version.
Very limited 12", only 100 copies.

Initially released in 1992, Juan Atkins joined forces with Moritz von Oswald and Thomas Fehlmann, for the second iteration of latter duo’s 3 Men in Berlin project, producing a monumental collaboration between Berlin and Detroit that profoundly affected the path forward for techno music.
The impact this album holds is evident in how it elevates beyond a singular or separable representation of its origins. Instead, it resonates through a collaborative nature that reflects its inherent melting pot. Where hints of each member’s sound - Atkins’ mangled and bouncing funk, von Oswald’s purist echoes and foundation rumblings, and Fehlmann’s ambient meshes - may be heard coalescing in a slipstream, and at other times tussling in fervent unfoldings. It may be almost 30 years old, but it remains deeply innovative at its core - folding and warping, unrelenting from its vision.
Densely packed is a propulsive drive of discordant bubbling and jazz-induced textures. Featuring much-beloved tracks such as Jazz Is The Teacher and Die Kosmischen Kuriere, Atkins, von Oswald and Fehlmann forming an emission bound together as a mould of metropolis navigation. Be it amid destructed realities harbouring the bleakest of nights, or long-lensed sci-fi visions, joining dots between the position of the feet and the head. The flanging pads and chirruping percussion of Jazz Is The Teacher lead in a moment in dance music that is as legendary as iconic, shifting into terrains far-out, receiving astral missives then rendering them to groove. Laid back, soulful and affective, it equals ultra-funky, interstellar techno that, once heard, leaves us never quite the same.

Born in Chicago but raised in Detroit, The Living Legend Alton Miller joins Roots Underground for his eighth vinyl release, and he does it in the usual stylish way that has always distinguished him in his nearly 30-years career.
From the Future is an EP composed of 3 tracks denoted by arrangements decidedly more electronic than its latest productions. It opens with Crossing (A), an irresistible club tool of over 9 minutes with a 'deep & techy' atmosphere and poisonous breaks that leads us on a warm and hypnotic trip immediately showing us the most dancefloor and synthetic side of this prolific Afro-american producer.
The B Side starts with The World needs Love (B1). Spiritual house music, ethereal keyboards, impending arpeggios and a vocal sample that adds a certain emotion to the track, in addition to naming it: 8 minutes of pure Miller’s style.
Brooklyn (B2) closes the B side with its rhythm full of latin percussions and sounds that remind to early NYC house music, without being nostalgic and making that same feeling relevant to the current scene.
The graphic design of this EP is consistent with the new style of the label, opened with Lorenzo Morresi's EP (RU007V), and this time it features the suggestive Greenstone (Chrolastrolite) of the State of Michigan.

Produced entirely by MF DOOM - Following the success of two collaborative releases (EMC “The Show”/2008 and Ace & Edo G “Arts & Entertainment” /2009), Masta Ace joins forces with the metal faced MF Doom for Son of Yvonne, a highly personal concept album that celebrates the life and legacy of Ace’s recently departed Mother. Like his 2004 landmark Disposable Arts, Son of Yvonne is meticulously constructed with stories, settings, and characters that resonate with flesh and bone humanity. Interstitial vignettes provide a thematic backbone to the experience, and each track complements and completes the previous to form a narrative whole: a sometimes visceral, sometimes nostalgic slice of Ace’s young life in Brownsville, Brooklyn.Entirely underscored by MF Doom’s iconic Special Herbs instrumentals, Son of Yvonne features the Juice Crew general Big Daddy Kane, new comers Pav Bundy (The Bundies), Reggie B and even MF Doom on the mic. It’s Masta Ace’s no frills flow, however, that looms largest above the dusty samples and digger loops that define Doom’s production. Ace’s photo-realistic rhymes about stick-up kids, spraycan artists and wack emcees add extra gravity to his already celebrated reputation as “truly an under-appreciated rap veteran andunderground luminary” (Allmusic Guide). Like Eminem recalls in his 2008 autobiography The Way I Am, “Masta Ace had amazing storytelling skills. His thoughts were so vivid.”

"For us, the Start Taking Note is a marvelous Frankenstein of sonic fragments. Foley, samples, ethnic instruments and late night synth jam sessions put together over solid UK Grime Influenced beats, bring together a sound of multiple generations of music and musicians together, to create this unique adrenaline shot.
We always strived to distinguish ourselves from the generic sound of the club scene, and we consider EP to be the foundation of our audio/visual identity.
Belgrade's urban underground music scene and the urban graffiti art is something that brought us all together, and will always stay a purest form of inspiration.
We also very grateful for Killa P's guest appearance on the EP title track. His career, tunes and artist he worked with amongst the core influences of our sound."

Hi Tek Sounds is the new label from East Man (AKA Basic Rhythm) set up after his debut album for Planet Mu ‘Red, White & Zero’.
The second release on Hi Tek Sounds is a collaborative effort from East Man & Walton.
The A side, Horse Mouth, is a dread affair. Bursting into life with a staccato drum pattern and an ominous synth drone that slowly builds up before breaking down into a calm before the storm that utilises the now infamous vocal sample of Leroy “Horsemouth” Wallace, before dropping back in with militant staccato drums and a deep booming sub stab. This one guarantees damage on the dance floor!
The B side, Gunshot, starts with soft, summery chimes and a minimal kick drum and clap pattern, peppered with vocal samples taken from an old recording of a pirate radio show, before dropping into a spacious but heavyweight drum pattern and deep rolling sub bass. Definitely one for the heads!

Brewing another supremely heavy release on the horizon, Moonshine Recordings is stealing the spotlight once again. Proudly presenting Violinbwoy’s first solo album, unadulterated sound system pressure at its finest. Slavic chants and drum rhythms meet the unrivalled power of Violinbwoy’s eccentric take on modern bass music ‘Fyetisov’ kicks off the stellar 3x12” release with a high-powered Stepper emission. Setting the tone with a rumbling bassline and supremely energetic lead instrumentation, full force sound system music down to its core. Shining in a different light, ‘Moonspell’ reveals its melancholic nature – gradually intensifying through otherworldly percussion and anthemic vocal sample placements. Stripped down to its bare bones, ‘Dubplate’ unleashes its detuned, percussive shackles for a massive onslaught of four-to-the-floor, while keeping true to Jamaica’s music roots. Warbling tape echo spheres and excellence in emotive expression Violinbwoy’s collaboration with singer Marina P turns out to be an anthem by itself enthralling, whoever gets caught into the midst of this hymn of a track. Not backing down one step from the established level of quality, ‘Sound System’ featuring Junior Dread excels once more in a crystal-clear demonstration of modern roots music – mandatory repeat listening. Rejoicing in simplicity, ‘Rig Alert’ holds true to what the name suggests - cinematic bass meditation, fluidly scaling with the size of its speaker counterpart. Moving on to Dan’s vocal skills in ‘Wanted’: Rastafarian wisdom chanting along a skanking rhythm and orchestral atmosphere. Ethereal bells being submerged in moving air and scattered white noise, ‘Run & Hide’ demonstrates a more experimental side within the LP – exhibiting Downtempo/Ambient inclinations in a magnificent combination with Dub characteristics, only increasing in energy to the call of the dub siren. Ready for more, the title track ‘død’ captures us within the expressive, introductory playing of the violin, deserting it for echoes and sub oscillations alike. Calling upon the prowess of Rider Shafique, his harmonic toasting is being escorted by a forward-minded halftime groove in ‘Find The Way’. Topping the LP off with Sis’ excellence in telling a story through song on a hypnotic instrumental. The nature of last tunes is often powerful, serving to concede with an explosion, appropriate of the session – as is the case with ‘Surfacing’ closing off the monumental EP with visceral lead movements, setting the tone alongside driving drums and one more murderous bassline, sure of receiving countless rewinds in the near future. Encompassing a plethora of current Roots- Dub- and Steppa- influenced styles, Moonshine’s next LP installment is sure to be received for what it is: a definitive, quality expedition of what’s firing up dance floors around the globe.

Peter Michael Hamel emerged from the 70s Krautrock scene dreaming of “the blue flower growing between the milestones on the road to a future world-music”. A truly visionary artist who worked and studied with John Cage, Morton Feldman and Terry Riley, his 1980 Colours of Time LP - an epic, sprawling, 22-minute saga - was hailed by The Guardian’s Rob Fitzpatrick as “an absolute masterpiece of skull-bursting, synth-led ambient minimalism”. Thirty six years on, Astral Industries reinterpret Hamel's original vision with remixes from two contemporary heavyweights - Wolfgang Voigt and Rod Modell (aka Deepchord). Each expansive interpretation invites you to step outside of reality and into an alternative imagination of Hamel's future world, spiralling into the colours and slowly out of time itself. Original artwork by Theo Ellsworth and a massive thanks to Peter Michael Hamel & Eckart Rahn.
