Release Date: 27th March 2020
The ageing process has you firmly in its ever increasing grasp if you never feel the urge to deliver the goods even harder. London-based DJ, producer and engineer Jason Cambridge aka A Sides just celebrated his 50th birthday, and it’s fair to state that he’s far from being tired to add essential musical footprints to an already impressive discography of epic proportions.
Hot off the heels of an extended SUNANDBASS tour through Australia and New Zealand earlier this year - together with Patife, Delicat and Stamina MC - A Sides now makes a glorious return to the festival’s very own label with a four-track EP that sees him in deadly form. Aptly titled “Fours EP“, this particular release isn’t only working as a showcase of A Sides’ undisputed prowess in the studio and his versatile musical nature, but as an urgent reminder why you fell in love with this music - and the annual SUNANDBASS festival on Sardinia that sees its 17th edition this year - in the first place: massive basslines, delicate melodies, skilled programming and a hi-def production form an entity with blustering impact. Add MC Fats’ unique, soothing vocal style to this list, and you know you’re in for a musical treat you simply can’t get enough of.
“Being drafted in to do this project was something special for me, as I hold my SUNANDBASS memories close to my heart. When I created this EP I wanted to use these festival experiences as forms of inspiration, which enabled me to experiment in different sub genres of drum & bass. “Arctic“ is very deep, emotional and rather special as I also feature MC Fats on vocals. “Follower“ is more of a reggae influence roller, “Need“ is liquid funk inspired by house music, and “Conscious Dub“ leans heavily on my dub/reggae influences“.
“Fours EP“ is serving up a stunning investigation of state of the art drum and bass and beyond, which comfortably sits between the angular and the alluring. Floor-filling guaranteed.
a1. A Sides - Arctic ft MC Fats
a2. A Sides - Follower
b1. A Sides - Need
b2. A Sides - Conscious Dub

SUNANDBASS Recordings returns with the four track 'Fade Away' EP from ArpXP, brilliantly showcasing the producer's ability to turn his hand to a wide range of different styles of Drum & Bass.
Well known and recognised for both the quality and diversity of his work, ArpXP has released with iconic labels such as Metalheadz, Critical and of course SUNANDBASS Recordings, but now his 'Fade Away' EP gives him a platform to really showcase what his work stands for, and where he is musically at the moment.
With the smooth, melancholic vibes of 'Fade Away' alongside MC Fava, and the shoe-gazing vibes of '˜Fifth Step Is Goodbye', ArpXP shows his ability to build a solid groove, with well sculpted sounds all interwoven together to form strong memorable tracks.
'Dancers Of The Stars' brings a darker vibe to the table, with skittering old-skool breaks bouncing off a huge reese bassline, bringing a bit of a jungle vibe to proceedings and making for a 4am dancefloor destroyer. The EP is tied up with '˜Endless Summer'', where you can almost see the heat shimmering off the tarmac, and tight drums and an ever-building arpeggiated synth line build the intensity.
a1. Fade Away ft. MC Fava
a2. Fifth Step Is Goodbye
b1. Dancers Of The Stars
b2. Endless Summer

From stunning beaches, to delivering some of the most pivotal tracks across festival season, SUNANDBASS have helped define the soundtrack of a party-going generation. Well-known for providing the weeklong drum & bass festival in Sardinia, they've also turned their attention to delivering the type of sounds which you'll find at their sun-drenched spaces. Whether that's the music of Satl's recent 'Bravehearts' EP or the forthcoming package from ArpXP, there's a range of tastes catered for on their record label.
ArpXP also has a personal attachment to SUNANDBASS – through his work behind the scenes, he's enabled the festival to grow into the renowned event that it is today. Based in Cagliari, on the same island that SUNANDBASS takes place, His style, from 120 to 170 bpm and with influences ranging from jazz to techno, from ambient to covers the contemporary bass music spectrum. His work as the visual and creative manager for SUNANDBASS, as well as seminal imprint Metalheadz, has meant that he’s continually stayed on the pulse when it’s come to label’s vision, something which is clearly reflected in his music.
His 'Somewhere Else' EP is demonstrative of his affinity for drum & bass music, featuring five tracks and a host of collaborative names. This should come as no surprise, with his influence within the genre and the extensive DJ support he's received (including figures such as Calibre and Lenzman).
Following his 2012 debut album 'Closer' and his releases on labels such as Metalheadz and many more, the 'Somewhere Else' EP is another return to form. From the grooves of 'Radar' with HLZ, to Visionobi's winding lyrics across title-track 'Somewhere Else', through to its Was A Be rework, ArpXP takes you on a journey. '2004' with its slamming drums adds itself to the track listing, whilst Robert Manos joins ArpXP for the smooth sonics of 'Lost'.
SUNANDBASS offer another high-quality addition to their growing catalogue of music and it's to see how they created such a revered calendar date within the drum & bass community. SUNANDBASS are ready for another seminal edition of their festival and with it comes a host of new music from their imprint.

SUNANDBASS ambassador FD returns for his latest EP to guide you back to familiar shores ready for our annual celebration in Sardinia. Rich and expressive music that works on the dancefloor can be hard to find but FD brings the goodness once again, with this diverse three-tracker.
“All Yours” hits the sweet spot straight away, with dusky vocals and tight beats. Deft guitar licks keep the funk fluid, wrapping around an essential groove, whilst crystal keys shimmer in the heat haze. An ace opener to any set, this track strikes a rare balance between rhythm and elegance.
Flipping the script with an ice-cold intro, “Second Villain” creeps up close and personal before dropping a murderous bassline on your chest. Produced alongside one of Switzerland’s most respected DJs, Ryck, the ‘Villain’ encompasses and embraces influences from Jungle and Drum & Bass alike.
Finalising the ninth release on SUNANDBASS Recordings is “Wah Wah Track”, which puts the music first to prove that the medium really is the message here. Melodic layers rise and fall like waves on this classy and uplifting piece of future soul music.

FD steps in for his first solo release for SUNANDBASS Recordings with his ‘Serious’ EP. ‘Serious’ received it’s first public play on Lenzman’s ‘Dope Tape’ – and was the most commented and sought after track in a mix that now boasts over 130,000 plays.
Ever since that airing, both Drum & Bass fans and DJs alike have been eagerly awaiting to get their hands on the track, which will now finally see a release. Deep and musical yet also Seriously weighty, the track causes dancefloor damage but is also nuanced enough to offer listening pleasure alone.
The EP also contains a Calibre remix of FD’s ‘Ambra’, a homage to the club that is the spiritual home of the SUNANDBASS festival. Bringing in the ‘Music Man’ to remix the track was an obvious choice, with the style of the track and also his love of the festival. He brings his own sublime and subtle touch to the track, turning it into a typical piece of Calibre music, deep and entrancing, one to bring a tear to your eye.
The EP is bought together with ‘The Edges’, a track that shows FD’s tougher side. A legitimate roller and a great DJ tool and already heavily supported by tastemaker Marcus Intalex, this track will be played by a whole range of DJs and can fit into a set at any point to change or set a mood with it’s heavy yet classic break and big bass and upfront sounds.

SUNANDBASS Recordings eighth release is on the horizon, an EP from none other than Marcus Intalex.
As a strong supporter of the SUNANDBASS festival since the early days, the idea for the release manifested itself over dinners, fine wines and great conversation and we’re proud to present three pieces that bear all of Marcus’ musical hallmarks.
He kindly gave these three tracks to the label to release, and they are now set to see the light to celebrate his memory and his amazing legacy, a decision made with his family after his tragic passing in May 2017.
Deep Stepper, Roller 170 and Ninety One all have that classic Marcus sound, classical yet refined Drum & Bass, tinged with Detroit Techno and classic house, all melded together to form a coherent and distinct vibe and sound that Marcus is so revered for. The tracks are upfront and powerful enough to work on the dancefloor, yet also have a depth and feeling to them for the dedicated listener.
We are tremendously honoured to welcome Marcus’ work into our catalogue and we look forward to sharing his music with you.

When you hear the name Need For Mirrors, you know you’re about to listen to something solid. Few DJs have created such successful and varied careers as Need For Mirrors’ Joe Moses, both behind the decks and behind the desk! Joe’s pioneering attitude earned him the reputation as one of DNB's leading DJs. Having created one of London’s most influential club nights Soul In Motion with Bailey, the two expanded further to create the Soul In Motion Records and agency as well as his own label Zoltar.
Need For Mirrors’ first appearance at SUNANDBASS was as early as the 2006 edition, and here he created moments that made our common history along all these years. Then in 2019, the prolific producer just blew us away with his SUNANDBASS performance. These tunes were the starting point of this latest chapter: the Ultra Violin EP, making this venture even more special or poignant, depending on how you look at it. The energy created on Ultra Violin brings us right back to the time ‘before’ when we could safely gather together in large groups, exchange ideas, energies and be totally carefree as we experienced a shared love of this music together. From racing, emotional melodies to trancing, celestial beats, Need For Mirrors transports us right back under the duvet of Sardinia’s warm, night skies.

SATL has already carved himself into the repertoire of drum & bass, something which can be seen through a succession of releases which have helped push him as a part of its more soulful trenches. SATL is a frequent traveler and performer at SUNANDBASS in Sardinia, also taking pride of place within our SUNANDBASS Recordings tour parties, enabling him to debut his music across a wide-ranging fan base. For him to release an EP on the SUNANDBASS imprint comes as little surprise, with the producer already deeply involved with the SUNANDBASS family.
The 'Braveheart' EP is an intricate look into the sounds which build SATL’s musicality – from its title track featuring Dan Stezo, through to digital bonus 'Maj', it pedestals the direction which has enabled SATL to receive such worldwide recognition. The winding pads of ‘Bravehearts’ and the gloomy lyricism of Dan Stezo gives a darker edge to the opening track, whilst 'Acid Trip' is an immersive experience, one with an urgency that catapults you into its first breakdown. 'Low End Theory' shakes through to its core with a stocky heaviness, then 'Maj' (digital only) takes you down a lighter route, one underpinned by its swatches of tinkling percussion.
From beginning to end, SATL takes you on a journey and it’s one with the mechanics that he’s becoming renowned for. Joining SUNANDBASS Recordings once again, it’ll be a welcome addition for any DJ and fan looking to add to another gem to their catalogue.
a1. Satl - Bravehearts (feat Dan Stezo)
b1. Satl - Acid Trip
b2. Satl - Low End Theory
