Hijinx (aka MR.K) delivers a 3-track EP for his second Navy Cut release.
A side ‘Venom’ is a track that has mutated every sound system it has been played on. The B Side comes with the low end shuffle of ‘TRU’ and the anticipated dub ‘Addict’ . Hijinx has many sides to his production style and he has delivered a truly faultless EP for bass music fans.
Introducing Maes (Manchester UK) the newest crew member on Navy Cut. Serves up 3 cuts of hard hitting sub bass with complex percussion and packed with energy while retaining the original Dubstep sound.
Introducing Rockstone; a fresh, bass heavy duo hailing from Canada, who present 4 incredible diverse cuts. Including the vocal talent of Rider Shafique, on their first EP for Navy Cut.
Distinct Motive returns to Navy Cut with another weighty two track release! Hamburg; a fast paced percussive driver. The A side that did serious damage at this years festival in USA and Europe. “2-3-4-5-6-7-8...Dowwwwwn” Haste on the flip side ... A stripped back minimal roller which transforms on bigger sound systems. Packed with bass energy and synth lines.
Navy Cut welcome Surreal to the label for his inaugural release! Hailing from Yorkshire, the no-nonsense producer and DJ caught our attention with his production skill and attention to detail.
“Somnipath” driven by a dark 808 bass that progresses into an Eastern melodic atmosphere.
On the flip side “Don’t Fall Asleep” is intense bass pressure with thick drums and even thicker vibes.
Crafting his own sound since his debut release in 2016 and building tune after tune steadily since then, we are sure you are more than familiar with his productions.
“Ol’ Dirty” with an intro full of suspense leads up to a high energy drop built for big sound systems. The second drop provides Mr.K’s signature style; intricate bass and rhythm changes.
Expect something unexpected in the shape of “Forever”. Admittedly a one-of-a-kind vibe for Mr K to date; a jazz-influenced, hip hop style rumbler.
Navy Cut are pleased to welcome Ramsez! The Bremen 🇩🇪 born, Netherlands 🇳🇱 resident, creates a style of bass music that is deep, modern and energetic.
“Bigboi”, admittedly Ramsez’s most powerful track to date, has a big, bubbling bassline and well-rounded style.
The swinging off beat hats, inspired Ramsez for the title “Swinger Club”. A throwback half-step rhythm with modern sound design.
With a rolling bassline and snarling mid-bass, “Talk Crime” is deep and upfront; one of Ramsez’s most proudest works yet, he is excited to unleash it to the masses.
NC008 see's the return of Navy Cut's debut release artist - Leo James. Presenting two incredible dub-techno inspired slow burners, featuring the mesmerising and soulful vocals of J Appiah.
As with his NC001 release (Speak Back / Day Dream in Dub), Leo James exclusively showcases a deeper, simpler and more progressive side to his productions for Navy Cut. The alias of Dom Howard/Ruckspin; widely known for his production and engineering for Submotion Orchestra and Author, with several acclaimed albums and worldwide tours under his belt since his 2001 production debut.
J Appiah, a singer/songwriter from Hackney, East London, who's work is autobiographical, often rooted in, and taking shape from life experience and whatever sounds he's immersed in at present. A highly sought after vocalist, and artist in his own right; his thoughtfully crafted melodies and lyrics are beyond impressive and refreshing. An artist true to himself and his feelings, Appiah's music conveys to us what it is to feel alive and human in the world.
Navy Cut label boss J.Sparrow starts off 2019 with a weighty 2-sided 12" vinyl release which is a taster of the year to come.
Dissonance is a retrospective take on elements of lo-fidelity, breaks, jazz and hip hop sounds resulting in "pure banger business."
The B side is a remix of Jonah Freed's "Guns", originally released through Czech imprint Harmless Youth. A trap-grime-dubstep fusion, featuring the lyrical might of one of the UK's most talented MC's - Rider Shafique. "Step aside watch the ride INI come correct. Place your bets cos every time I make a shot it must connect. You feel like you know me but you no see nuttin yet!"... setting the scene for the style and vibe of the track.
In the first half of 2019, J.Sparrow is set to release his second solo album #00000365 on DEEP MEDi, and further remixes for Distinct Motive, Alter Echo & E3, Danny T & Tradesman, and Fiend.
Splitting his time between the studio and the decks, steadily solidifying his reputation as an authoritative force in electronic music.
