Having carefully honed an inimitable sound that caresses the left-facing corners of house, techno, ambient and beats, this marks the start of what promises to be a very special year for the Mid West talent. Rawaat's own DIY tape imprint, Crisis Urbana, simultaneously provided the breeding ground and outlet for ideas and a collective mentallity that is beginning to define a new wave of Detroit producers, and listening to their discography it's immediately clear where those tape-saturated, cut-and-paste jams found their roots.
