It’s been a pretty eventful year for FKOF Records, but we’re delighted to be ending it with a bang and by welcoming two brand artists to the imprint. We’ve been long-time fans of Oddkut and Abstrakt Sonance and when we discovered they’d been on the buttons together we knew it was material we wanted to home...
The next FKOF Records release sees us welcome four artists back into the FKOF fold with our first VIP record in the imprint’s history. It’s great seeing artists remix other artists’ work and putting a new spin on it, but there’s something special about producers revisiting their own work to put an extra spicy flip on solo material. So that’s what we’ve done with FKOFv006...
We’ve had a quieter start to 2021 than previous years, but that doesn’t mean we’ve not been busy. In fact, our next physical release marks the first in a run of 9 or more we’ve got booked and ready for the rest of the year... To kick off the first FKOFv release of 2021, we welcome an artist back to the roster we first worked with as FKOF Records in 2013. It’s been great watching Subreachers develop his sound and material over the last ~10yrs, and it’s wicked to have him on a record – with some incredible tunes as well! FKOFv005 also welcomes Congi to the label for the first time, with a sumptuous remix that we know you’ll love as much as we do...
FKOFv004 is the third physical release from FKOF Records in 2020, following WZ’s FKOFv003 in January and the 2x 12” FKOF10 album celebrating 10 Years of FatKidOnFire earlier this summer. We open with the heavyweight Chad Dubz and Biome collab – ‘455’ – that’s been inspiring gunfingers and screwfaces around the world since being teased online a few months ago. It’s everything you’d hope the combination of two of 140bpm’s finest talents would create: incredible synths, crushing percussive power and atmospherics for days. Pure weight.
“A2 is another Chad Dubz collab, this time featuring Uprise Audio’s boss Eddy Seven on the buttons. ‘Strictly’ has been doing regular damage on the FKOF Sessions show on Subtle Radio and is exactly what its sample says it is – ‘strictly for the sound system’. We signed this one for the mad switch up and the sub that hits harder than a rollercoaster. You’ll know what we mean when you hear this on the system. Absolute rudeness.
“The B-side opens with the only Chad Dubz original mix on the record; the relentlessly effervescent ‘Nilaari’. It’s a production on the rowdier side of what we’d normally sign, but we knew we had to have it when Chad sent it our way. You’ll need a lie down after this one!
“We conclude by welcoming the legendary DJ Madd to FKOF Records for his debut, putting an old school, stripped back flip on ‘455’. The remix evokes the brooding, dangerous dubstep sound from classic Minimal Mondays sets back in the day on Rinse – or the halfstep vibe from 2010-13. It’s a fitting end to what we feel is an incredible record. We hope you agree!
We survived 10 years. Holy FKOF we did it - with your help! To celebrate, we’ve put together a record worthy of getting through our first decade. 8 tracks. 4 remixes. 2 records. 1 FKOF vibe: beats, bass and space.
The FKOF10 ‘A’ record features 4 artists new to both physical and digital imprints. We have original mixes from Feonix, maessounds, Ourmanmusic, EshOne & djwheezie.
The FKOF10 ‘B’ record features 4 heavyweight remixes of FKOF material from the last 10 years. Distance has reimagined roklemdubs ’ ‘Forged‘ from FKOFd039. N-Type has done subreachers’ ‘Fear‘ from FKOFd002(!). LXOne has put his twist on Phossauk’s ‘Drones’ from FKOFd037. The godfather Benny Ill, the one and only Horsepower Productions, has remixed ‘Madda’ from our 2016 FKOFd029 EP with Chokez.

Our last release (across both formats) of 2019 is a vinyl release with an artist we’ve sung high praises for earlier this year. Hailing from the Czech Republic, WZ is an artist with many talents - talents we demonstrated with his FKOF Records debut on FKOFd038.
As we said at the time, David sent us a batch of material over the summer and we (for the first time in our ~10year history) signed a digital and vinyl release without too much thought. Here he is, with his debut vinyl release, across three anthemic original mixes. And, for the first time ever, we welcome the mighty Ishan Sound to FatKidOnFire with the sort of firepower only the Young Echo artist can bring. This is FKOFv003...
With life sometimes getting in the way, we’re no longer rushing out releases to tight deadlines or expected timeframes, but we continue to always be sticklers for doing things our own way, in our own time. It's been an eventual journey, but we're hoping the almost year-long wait for the follow-up to our debut physical release is worth it. We've already got 003 almost ready for mastering, so the next one won't take as long...
“We're back. We've got another record for you and, we think, FKOFv002 is full of wall-to-wall bangers. Sheffield's finest, Dark Harmonics, are rejoining the fold (after their heavyweight FKOFd18 way back in 2015), alongside Subaltern Records' bossman Otz, who we welcome to the family for his debut release. Their collab, the mighty ‘Voidwalker’, has been doing the rounds for a hot minute, with support from a number of our sound's champion selectors. It's monstrous. The A-side wraps with 'F*cking Spiders'. One listen of its second drop and we knew it was for us. Absolute goosebump material.
"You know who the legendary J:Kenzo is, and we're proper proud to have him also joining the FKOF family with his sublime remix that leads the B-side. Beau at Ten Eight Seven has, once again, tweaked the tunes to perfection with his awesome mastering effort. We're really pleased with FKOFv002, and we hope you are too..."

When we launched our digital imprint in 2013, one of our explicit reasons for doing so was to fund a vinyl label. It may have taken us four years to get to this point, but we re finally here FKOFv001 is upon us. The debut FatKidOnFire physical release sees new artists join our roster. Taiko's Untitled Grime has been blowing up the dances for a hot minute; championed by the likes of Truth, Spooky and many more. Spooky even named the tune in his Fact Mag top ten 'most prized dubplates list! We linked Taiko up with Mancunian wordsmith Skittles (currently smashing it with the Levelz crew), and 'Don't Be Stoopid' is the anthemic result. FKOF fam and producer extraordinaire District adds an industrial grime-esque flavour to his remix for a killer one-two punch. The two producers collaborate, for the first time ever, on the B-side, entitled Yoakai . It s a tune that demonstrates why we signed both musicians incredible atmospheres, depth and weight. Beau at Ten Eight Seven, as ever, has mastered the tunes to perfection. We re proud of this release and, on first listen, we hope you ll hear why...
