"This EP is a part of me. It's about the evolution of my state of mind in recent years, my mistakes, my successes, my loves. A really emotional release for me, with a real evolution happening between A1 and B2. I hope you can feel the same emotions as I did while composing them."
"I've been making tracks in groups for the past couple of years and these three were loosely based on a Lovecraft style story, where an investigator shows up at an unfrequented hotel and discovers a supernatural cult. Bit of a reach? Maybe"
Current Worldwide events show how some of us are full of hate.Cruelty, Anger, Violence and Greed control the minds of those seeking fulfilment from external sources. Hoping to feed their longings with possessions and power... and to me, this is THE IDEA OF THE DEVIL!
"This EP is something special. The title tune was created together in Los Angeles right before we headed off to Shambhala and then Outlook Festival... two of our most favourite events of the year, so we were able to test it out when it was brand new and fresh.
Tui is a collaboration with NZ Legend Tiki Taane, who plays a bunch of traditional pacific instruments on the track. Shadow Samurai is creepy, dark and melodic, and it's got the funk. Releasing music with DEEP MEDi is like returning home."
'I wrote these tunes in one of these creative moments where everything was flowing so well it felt like the tunes actually made themselves. A lot of analog jamming to give the Ep that distinctive sound and Hermetica was born. Since then the music has been part of many gigs and travels while reading ancient books on Hermetism and symbolism and i'm happy that the learnings come together on this EP'
With his debut 12" release on DEEP MEDi & his 'Decade of Weight' album, 2016 has been a strong year for Bukez Finezt so far. In his own words: "Holy Moly - life goal right there"
Deep Medi's next LP brings together dubstep heavyweights Commodo, Kahn & Gantz.
The six-tracker is a rare long player for the label, which is primarily known for its 12" singles. Though each producer has appeared on the label individually over the years, the double LP is the first time the three producers have worked together on record.
