Release Date - 9th November 2018
For the label’s 7th release, 8205 Recordings is honored to feature three tracks of previously unreleased darkside hardcore/jungle by Smith Inc, aka Simon Bassline Smith. Simon is one of the foundational producers and djs of jungle/dnb, from its very earliest days through to current time when he’s still smashing massive dnb raves and sold out tour dates across the globe.
The A side of this EP, “Power Of Darkness”, was played on dubplate back in 1993 by Grooverider at parties like Edge, Quest/Fibre Optic and In-Ter-Dance. This tune perfectly highlights the unique dark sound of the time, present for just a brief moment before jungle fully took hold in 1994. On the flip are two more distinct takes on this track.“Power of Daylight” features similar beats to “Darkness”, but with a lighter melody throughout. “Diatonic” goes even further and strips almost all the music away, leaving just thundering percussion and bass. Together, these three tracks show the sounds and creativity that were exploding on the scene back in 1993, making it an absolute must-hear for fans of that sound / era.
“Power of Darkness” is a vinyl-only EP limited to 450 copies, and is pressed on black vinyl with full b+w sleeve art. Distribution is by Unearthed.

8205 Recordings is back in 2018, bringing you four tracks of 95 amen badness by Darkman, aka Mark Morris. Primarily releasing on Flex Recordings back in the day, Mark returned in 2015 with an EP of long-lost killer cuts on the excellent Green Bay Wax label. Three years later and Mark is back, delivering more great tracks written 23 years ago but not released until now.
“Dianetics” is a lovely atmospheric jungle tune featuring simple but catchy piano and rolling amens, as much a joy to mix as it is on its own. “Take it Forward ‘95” is another nice vibey atmospheric track - one for the heads! On the B side, “Now Massive” steps it up with frantic crazy beatwork, numerous stops and starts, and timestretched ragga vocals. Finally, the bonus b2 track, “Jack’s Back” is an mashed amen beast, with frantic breaks and well known Shining samples flying by at well over 180 bpm.
This EP is limited to 450 copies, vinyl only, and is distributed by Unearthed.

8205 Recordings is back in 2018 with more previously unreleased gems from the heyday of hardcore/jungle. This time around, it's back to 93 with four tracks of serious darkness from DJ Wax, a well known DJ/producer of the time responsible for the classic tune "Moments So Dark". "Lostwax EP" features two freshly unearthed tracks which have never been heard before in any form: the moody-yet-uplifting "808 Darkness Pt2", and the absolutely relentless "Thunderbirds Are Go". Also included is a previously unreleased remix of a track off DJ Wax's Darkwax EP, here titled "Not For Sale". Finally, for those without the original, a freshly remastered version of “Moments So Dark” is included, as played back in the day by Grooverider, Ray Keith, DJ Ratty, Simon Bassline Smith, and many more hc/jungle dons.

8205 Recordings is ending 2016 with a bang, bringing you “The Clash EP” by DJ Renegade (aka DJ Ren of DON FM). “The Clash EP” features four tracks of relentless Amiga jungle badness, produced by Ren between 1993 and 1995. Fans of classic Bizzy B / Brain Records material take note: these tunes are RUFF! All four tracks feature massively chopped amens, heavy subs, sinister atmospherics and and that classic Amiga grit that helped define so many tunes of that era.
Only one of the four tracks on this EP was ever available before in any format, via an extremely rare and pricey Japanese CD compilation. The other three have never been released at all, and were only heard on dubplate in sets by a select few djs like Equinox (who helped remaster this release), Nut E-1, and of course DJ Ren himself.
“The Clash EP” will be released December 23d as a hand-stamped black vinyl 12”, limited to 300 copies. Each copy of the EP includes a unique download code, providing access to all four tracks in your choice of digital format.
