Matt Bridgewater aka Callahan first released on 4 Seasons back in 2015 with ‘Armshouse’ EP, since then he released an impressive offering on DEXT, featuring a Hodge remix, as well as playing shows around the UK.
The four track EP, features heavy breakdowns, percussion fuelled rhythms, as well as the club friendly ‘State Of Mind’ collaboration with UK legend Roska.
Callahan is a new alias from a recognised producer.
On first listen, it's evident that this isn't a newcomer. The beat maker has astute taste, and a willingness to break boundaries which can only come from experience.
A digital release on Mele's Quandrants imprint last month helped introduce the producer's new alias, with a full 12 inch set to drop shortly.
'Armshouse' EP is a dextrous four tracker, fusing glistening techno production to sub-low adventures and the odd nod towards grime's jagged rhythmic sense.
Clash is able to premiere the title cut and it's a subtle electronic workout. Matching a continually expansive techno flow to a cutting, almost funky riddim, this is impossible to define yet could only emerge from the UK's soundsystem territories.
Bristol based producer, Caski provides the second release for 4Seasons,with his dark, broken beat "Structures” EP.
Mike Zanghi aka Caski, first came onto the scene in 2012, with a split release on Garage legend ELB' infamous Ghost Recordings imprint. Over the years, Caski's sound developed and evolved massively, eventually resulting in first full EP release on Synkro& Indigo's label EMF (Electro Magnetic Fields). After spending some time purely focussing on making new material, Caski was asked to contribute to Keysound Recordings’ "Certified Connections"compilation, which also featured; Murlo,Wen&Riko Danrespectively.
"Structures" EP is Caski's second full 12" and presents his most club friendly material to date. 002 follows on from the acclaimed debut release on 4 Seasons by Callahan, anew alias of Pasteman.
