Local Action 'Inkke - Crystal Children EP' | Forthcoming Vinyl Release July 30 2014

Local Action is proud to present the first 12” release by Inkke, Glasgow’s most talked-about new producer.

Since contributing to Big Dada’s Grime 2.0 compilation, Inkke has been championed by key DJs and tastemakers from Scotland (Eclair Fifi, Jackmaster, S-Type) and further afield (Mumdance, Slackk, Plastician, Cashmere Cat, Ryan Hemsworth). He also contributed to LuckyMe’s 2014 advent calendar, and released an acclaimed cassette EP, Faded With Da Kittens, on the Astral Black label.

On Crystal Children, he lets out some of his most in-demand dubplates (‘Thinkk Star’, ‘Ultraviolet’) while also showing his sentimental side on the gut-wrenching ‘Daisy Chain’ and Julia Juban collaboration ‘Paradise’.

DJ reactions:

Murlo – “Yes! Big release”

Cashmere Cat – “inkke is a bawse!”

Mumdance – “Ive been hammering this EP for a good six months on in the clubs & on Rinse FM. Daisy Chain is in my to five tracks of 2014 so far. Massive EP”

S-Type - "Hard but emotional. This record is the opposite of generic, Inkke is in a world of his own."

Ryan Hemsworth – “Inkke is occupying this unique place right now between NERD and CLUB, which I think is fantastic for all of us hermits who need a good excuse to get out of the house and go to a show once a while.”

Jackmaster – “enjoyed muchly”

Blackdown - "murkey, grimey but rollin' - Inkke making moves with this..."

Rabit – “I've been playing ultraviolet for a year or more now. There's a lot of new producers about, but Inkke stands out with his own precise sound. Razor sharp tracks.”

Logos - "I love Inkke's grasp of melody and his ability to flip sound in unexpected directions. This EP is a great introduction to the work of this shadowy force from the north. Top marks."

Nightwave – “I love Inkke's new EP and the sound he's been exploring in the last year! Can't wait to hear what he does next and I look forward to playing these tracks in the club!”

Plastician – “This is great, been supporting Zen and Daisy Chain on Rinse for a while now. Inkke is definitely one of the artists from this new grime wave who I can connect with”

Madam X - "Wicked release. Loving the feel to this; emotional & chaotic - just how I like it. Lego Riddim & Daisy Chain are beautiful. Strong work from Inkke as always!"
